If essential oils i beleive you should keep them in a dark container

and out of sunlight as this may make them deteriorate

quicker?...would tend myself to replace them after a year or

so....they've been open etc etc...although not sure if thats

actually necessary.

Just use soap and water and hydrogen pyroxide for deeper ones

Usually nothing else needed as we have an immune system

If something else needed, just use calendula

Really don't need to 'do' much of anything most times.

Put meat tenderizer in your beach bag too. When you go to the beach if you

get stung by a jelly fish it draws out the toxins of the stings. I do not

know if this helps when you get stung by a portugese man-of-war. I know it

works because I have quite a history with the little devils.

One thing I carry in my diaper bag is Meat Tenderizer. DD got stung by a

wasp and it swelled something horrible and she screamed and cried for over

an hour. I made a paste out of meat tenderizer and water and put it on the

sting. In 20 minutes the swelling was gone and she was happy as a clam. I

used the Hylands bite sting ointment afterwards. I would have used that

first but the tenderizer is what was on hand.

The seasoned meat tenderizer might be but I use unseasoned meat tenderizer

and mine does not have MSG.

For essential oils....in their neat form and in glass bottles kept out of direct

sunlight - it is very long - 10 years or longer. Citrus is more volatile and

may go more quickly.

Hey whatever works. I have heard that works BUT it is not a conveinent

route when you get stung on the top of your arm or on the back of your thigh

or on your back and there is no one else around. I am sorry but I can't

exactly twist that way.

Essential oils that are pure, undiluted and stored correctly - i.e. in

dark-coloured, glass bottles with good fitting stoppers/tops at a reasonably

cool temperature - will keep indefinitely. Citrus oils are produced via

expression and are prone to precipitating, and this gives them a tendency to

go rather rancid after about 3 years. Not always - I've had bottles of

orange oil that have kept far in excess of this, but this would be about the

average time for a citrus oil.

Agree with Sheri on Calendula and Arnica unless you have them as mother

tinctures, in which case should keep indefinitely if stored correctly.

Mine doesn't have MSG listed as an ingredient. It has salt, dextrose, bromelain

and calcium silicate.
