My daughter is 3 years old today though and will be starting pre-k in one year so I should begin to start the ball rolling. You are saying that I should not use the abortion issue when claiming religious exemption? I guess I can see how that would complicate things, I am however strongly against the use of aborted embryos and abortion, even so you are saying that I should leave that be and just follow the steps as they are? I am understanding more and more just how hard NY can be. Funny, we are politically one of the more liberal states... go figure! Guest guest
You ONLY use hte wording of the law in making your statement. Contact the group before you do anything. This has nothing to do with religion. Maybe I'm coming in at the end of a discussion that has taken place over time, but why can't a religious objection to abortion be used for an exemption for religious reasons? I'm kind of curious because I'm not going to hold my breath in finding a group of non-vaxing parents in South Dakota. This is a cattle and farming state... where people vaccinate their animals against everything (and we see constant comercials on TV reminding them to do so) and spray every form of chemical on their plants. I'm a transplant here... I've only been here for a year... and I'm seen as the one with " wacky " ideas about homebirth and not-vaxing. I see my only hope against keeping some of these poisons out of my children as a religious exemption because of aborted fetal tissue. I don't need a long explanation right now - I have time on this. But if that question could be cleared up, I'd appreciate it. Also, if there is anyone here from SD on the list, please let me know I'm not the only one out here. Any other wording, adding things, etc. and you open yourself up for trouble. For the formal written religious exemption, stick to the wording used by your state. When you're Telling someone (friend, family member, etc.) Why you have a religious exemption, it's ok to bring up the abortion angle. Jan G. That makes a lot more sense now. I appreciate it! Genevieve South Dakota
