Guest guest
from someone on another list...... I strongly suggest you do not get any root canals. I wish had I done that. I might have avoided the >bladder infection... Who knows? Good idea. >> Also, why can't they just extract the bad tooth and leave it empty? I had 2 root canal teeth extracted from the lower left quadrant. I opted to just stick with a temporary appliance which I remove each time I brush my teeth, then pop it back in. I was trying the save money and thought that would be a good way to go. I should have realized, but unfortunately my dentist did not explain, that without a bridge, my teeth would shift. Too bad! They'll just have to be crooked. No more braces for me at this age. If I had it to do over again, I would get a non-metal bridge. Good luck on making your decision. Guest guest
Jackie, I've had two teeth next to each other in the lower left quadrant extracted rather than get root canals. They are further back, so even when I have a really big smile you can't tell. My dentist told me I could get a bridge, but it wasn't necessary. After almost 4 years, I couldn't tell you if my teeth moved or not - in other words, if they did neither my dentist or I noticed. If you get them extracted, you can get a bridge whenever you want though - wait and see if they do actually move before spending money on a bridge. If you think about it, adult teeth really aren't going to move much. Good luck!
