Guest guest
My son used to do it. I asked the dentist and was told it is normal in kids. He has stopped doing it but he sucks in his sleep like he did when he was a breastfeeding baby and toddler. ~`~Holly~`~ iel (5/96) & Jenavieve (5/02) The truth is, if vaccinations work, then the vaccinated child has nothing to fear from those not vaccinated. I've heard many peoples Mothers and Grand Mothers claim that teeth- grinding is caused by parasites / worms. Guest guest
I have heard that teeth grinding at night could be an indication of worms so perhaps see a naturopath for some tinctures/herbs to treat for worms? Just a suggestion. All the best, Meryl RE: almost 4 yr old and teeth grinding? <<Anyway, he is still grinding his teeth while sleeping. Guest guest
This is a clue to different people's pictures and helpful to a homeopath There is not always a 'reason' why that you can figure out, but homeopathic treatment helps it to go I tried to figure out my migraines for 15+ years - why did I get them, what foods, what drinks, what life situations, what this what that...............in the end one remedy and 2 months cured. Didn't change anything, didn't have to think about it, didn't do all the things I'd tried to do to get rid of them. Guest guest
I would think homeopathy would help. I'm not very clued up in homeopathy, but have been to one a few times, and this would be something they would take seriously when treating someone. In my son's case, the " symptoms " werent' as clear, but taken into account when treating him. He was sweating in certain area's of his body, that was taken into account as well as the smell of him, and his fear of LOUD noises - like the vacumn cleaner.... I have heard success stories with children that bang their heads etc... and I think grinding teeth would also be helped with homeopathic treatment. RE: almost 4 yr old and teeth grinding? Guest guest
Not only would it be helped, but it is one of many guiding symptoms. The homeopath wants to know all the strange and peculiar symptoms that you have and they are what help guide to the right remedy. Guest guest
While we are on this subject, I need to treat my son for worms. He is waking up at night itching. How safe is the OTC - PIN-X (pyrantel pamoate)? Has anyone used wormwood extract (artemisia) with success? Ginger does not seem to be working and I can't get him to eat garlic. Guest guest
Hi, I would like to comment on this as a fellow and long time grinder and gnasher. I am 32y now and have done it for as long as i can remember! When i was younger, i remember my mom reprimanding me when my jaw would pop while eating. She thought this was something i was intentionally doing (for laughs or attention ?i'll never know!) But believe me if i couldve stopped, I would have! So first let me commend you for addressing this issue early on. Because of the grinding I have cracked 6 teeth off at the gumline! I suffered for years with pain from what they now call TMJ(tempormandible(sp?) jaw disorder! I have suffered lock jaw on many occassions, as well as migraines, and severe neck pain! There was a point where i feared it would never end and i didn't know if that was something i could live with for the next 50+ yrs. Then about 6 years ago, i mentioned it to my chiropractor(who walks on water in my eyes today!). My husband and i are both happy to say it has been 5yrs since i have awakened him from sleep from the popping and cracking! Not once have i gotten a fork stuck in my mouth from lock jaw and not one migraine! Most people, including dentists, told me it was stress or tension and to practice relaxtion which i partially agreed with however, it wasn't the answer! I don't know for sure if it was just one thing or a combination but for your son, don't give up on a resolution, it's possible and necessary for him to be happy and healthy(and keep his teeth! ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 1 Date: Mon, 12 Apr 2004 13:41:41 -0000 From: " crazeladyshopper " <crazeladyshopper@...> Subject: almost 4 yr old and teeth grinding? Guest guest
I wonder then if there's something that may help her relax her jaw when sleeping - aromatherepy maybe? (Lavender, Camomile possibly? Other people might know more about this than I do!) Not too strong though, just a drop or two in an oil burner for a little while as it's VERY over-powering even to adults if it's too strong and lasts for ages!!! Or herbal tea, camomile maybe? Just made mildly. I used to give my son a weak chamomile tea with honey to relax him when he was about the same age. He liked it, so it can't taste too bad. ~ Jowanna. > <<My son used to do it. Guest guest
I've used a couple of herbal formulars, but if your son wont eat garlic, I don't think you'll have much success in giving him either of the ones I've tried. If you could get a herbal treatment made up in capsule form, they definatly do work! If you think your son can deal with a liquid formular, Malcom Harkers formular 825 is very good. He's a New Zealand based herbalist and his site will come up if you do a search. I'd give you the url, but this computers to slow for his site. ~ Jowanna. > While we are on this subject, I need to treat my son for worms. He is waking > up at night itching.
