Guest guest
After 2 weeks of pretty serious symptoms here that were not responding to anything I was doing, even with help from my long-distance homeopath, I took the kids to the pediatrician, and our whole family has strep throat. With reluctance, I put us all on antibiotics, for the following reasons: 1. My things weren't working; in fact, the kids were getting worse. 2. I have NO practitioner nearby to help me. We are in one of the best places in the country for allopathic care, which means we have hardly any alternatives. I also have to order all my remedies, which can take days. 3. Strep is running rampant around here; a 7 year old boy in our community died from it, which I'd never heard of before. And my kids have NEVER been this sick with it before. Luke's one ear was infected again (ugh) and the other was " dull " whatever that means. I am loading us up on probiotics and vitamin C, and am NOT abandoning the homeopathy yet. There were just too many " coincidences " in Luke's improvement before this. And my goal is to keep us off antibiotics in the future, so maybe once we get past this blip things will improve again. I want to keep reporting our progress for those considering homeopathy, because I know it helps me to get an honest picture of things. Hope that's okay. Guest guest
Hi , Antibiotics are there for when we need them - it's overusing them that causes the problems. Don't beat yourself up - that will just mean it will take even longer to get better. it sounds to me like you're doing what you need to do and doing things right. So I hope you and your family are better soon, take it easy and take care :-) Meryl
Guest guest
Thanks , even though I avoid antibiotics I know that I would do the same as you in a similar situation. Luckily it is only my daughter and I that I have to think about, and we rarely get sick. So far I have only given her one course of antibiotics (for school sores). And that could have been avoided if I could have kept her home from school long enough. She is 5 years old, so I feel ok about giving them to her. Thankyou for sharing your experiences. I think it is important we do that so there is documentation of successes and failures we can all refer back to. It doesn't matter how many documents we read, it is the first hand information that has the most impact. It is for me anyway. . on <jmorriso@...> wrote: After 2 weeks of pretty serious symptoms here that were not responding to anything I was doing, even with help from my long-distance homeopath, I took the kids to the pediatrician, and our whole family has strep throat. Guest guest
I second (or third) " don't beat yourself up " . I have had many many successes with homeopathy BUT have also had some times where things didn't respond quick enough or we just didn't find thre right remedy and we ended up using some allopathic stuff. One situation was my 13 month old daughter had croup that was so bad she really was struggling to breathe. After 8 hours of trying to resolve it with homeopathy under a anthroposophical dr.'s care we didn't feel it was in the er with several breathing treatments. Now had we had a classically trained person at the time it may have been different BUT I still would have had to wait to get the right remedy possibly, maybe it would have been a day when he wasn't reachable....it's happened before for other illnesses with my husband and I. With a young child and breathing problems I didn't feel we could wait. L. Guest guest
M, Find a new Classical Homeopath (...Sheri!). I had strep last month (also high in my community) and the right remedy did the trick in no time. One remedy does not fit all. Everyone is unique and needs their own remedy. I understand your concerns. It's SO difficult to make these decisions. Once you find the right Homeopath for you, the pressure is lifted as you know you're in good hands. Good luck Heidi > After 2 weeks of pretty serious symptoms here that were not responding > to anything I was doing, even with help from my long-distance homeopath, > I took the kids to the pediatrician, and our whole family has strep > throat.
