Guest guest
Sue, Don't worry about the lumps. Let the dough sit a bit until the sugar is moistened then mix some more. The lumps should come out and you can continue baking. I have done this many times. Vicki

The lumps should come out and you can continue I'll see what happens to this stuff by morning. For now it's in the refrigerator because of the eggs, but so far those lumps aren't any softer, and it's been about 4 hours! In the meantime, I made a different batch of cookies made out of whole wheat flour, carob chips, and other healthy stuff. He won't complain too much - last time he needed stuff last minute like this I made whole wheat, sugar-free raisin muffins and he said they were one of the first things to go. Let the same girls who grabbed those muffins grab these cookies. And if those lumps in the chocolate chip dough *do* soften up by tomorrow, then hubby & the kid will get themselves some nice fresh cookies to munch on. And if they don't I'm sure they'll still be delicious. The brown sugar will either melt in the oven or add a nice bit of sweet crunch to the cookies. Yum!
