Guest guest
> but I know they will be discussing selling the cookies > (yep... order taking time already) That's right - mentioned this the other day. Hey, ! Yoo hoo! Did you drive in the dark or skip that meeting? >Cleaning, > cleaning, cleaning.... I'm not in the mood often so I try to take > advantage of it when I am. This house always looks bad after the holidays, and this year it's even worse because of the snow right before Christmas, being sick *during* the season, and now the frigid cold and my business after. This whole place needs a good scrubbing, but I'm going to tackle it a little at a time. Who knows where to sign up for FlyLady's mailing list? Is it the one on the web site? I thought there was a group I had belonged to but can't find it now. At least I *am* scrubbing my sink clean every morning. Guest guest
I have family in the Atlanta area and I agree - I love visiting anytime but summer LOL of course, come 4th of July most years - you'll find me at Stone mountain ALL DAY. a few years back I thought I was just going to melt - we didn't leave our spot on the hill except to use the bathroom <GBG>. one year we even ventured into Atlanta for the parade - it was dang near 100! Re: Calm Before the Storm? It sounds like you had a busy day. Today I have been cleaning andtaking care of the kids. I had 6 basket of clothes to fold and putaway. Even though I enjoy cleaning my house, I hate doing laundry. Ican never get caught up. ugh. lolWe will be eating leftovers here also, spaghetti, salad and rolls. Wealso have soo much turkey left over that it looks like my lunches willbe turkey salads for the next 4 days. LOLTomorrow we will be taking a nice long ride to get my "new" treadmill.I am very excited about that. I am also stopping at Walmart andgetting a new scale and mat to do my pilates on. I am soo ready tostart exercizing. I have been a bit bummed out, because my scale is reading my weightwrong...so I think I only lost 2 pounds last week and 1 so far thisweek. In reality I shouldn't be soo bummed, because 2 pounds a week ishealthy and reccomended. But still..lol :)We won't be getting snow here anytime soon. We used to live in westernPA, and loved it when it would first snow. But 2 years ago we moved tothe Atlanta area, because that was our first and last duty station. (DH is in the army) I like the weather in the winter, fall and springbut summer...no way. The worst thing is my blood is thinner orsomething because I think that 32 is coooollllldddd..LOL..I don't knowwhat we are going to do in a year and a half when we head back to PA. :)Well I should get off here and start heating up the spaghettie. I hopeall of you have a wonderful day and I will talk to you later. To unsubscribe DO NOT send a message to the list. Please click on this link and unsubscribe:100-plus/join
Guest guest
>I am soo ready to > start exercizing. Just take it nice and slow at first! Over-doing it will leads to pain, and pain leads to skipping days, and, well, we all know what happens *then*, don't we? > I have been a bit bummed out, because my scale is reading my weight > wrong... So today you'll get your new scale and start from there, wahtever it reads. When we have this much weight to lose, what does it matter if we have, say, 65 vs 68 pounds to lose? In fact, a lot of " experts " recommend skipping the scale totally or weighing only once a month and go by how we feel, how our clothes fit, or measurements *other* than weight. > We won't be getting snow here anytime soon. I woke up to 3 - 6 inches outside, temp of 9, windchill -11. I feel sorry for hubby and the kid, but *so* glad I don't have to leave the house at all. >I like the weather in the winter, fall and spring > but summer...no way. We lived in FL only 10 months, but the first day was August 1. It was 10 degrees *cooler* there than it was when we left NJ, and *that* was after a record-breaking stretch of 90+ degree days. And living in FL in summer was better than in NJ, because everyplace has modern air conditioning. The apartment had central air, all the stores had super cooling, the cars even had stronger AC units than up north here. It was the best summer, weather-wise, I ever had in my life. By the next summer we were back in NJ and dying of the heat, humidity, and smog again. The worst thing is my blood is thinner or > something because I think that 32 is coooollllldddd..LOL.. I still walk around with my coat open at 32! For me, summer weather starts the first day it hits 65. >I don't know > what we are going to do in a year and a half when we head back to PA. You're as bad as my father. After 15 years in FL he can't take the cold at all and starts wearing his winter coat, hat and gloves when it gets near 70, a temp where I'm still in shorts and light cotton shirts. Guest guest
> It's like quitting smoking. When will the day be? When will it be > possible to put down the food? It's usually the day a person hit bottom, the day a personal or medical crisis makes it impossible to continue. When I quit smoking, it was either stop cold turkey or go into the hospital that afternoon on oxygen and IV steroids. I quit smoking. When I started on this weight loss journey, I had been in spitting distance of 300 pounds, couldn't walk because of pain in my foot, knees and hip (arthritis), couldn't exercise because of pain in my neck and arms (cervical neuritis), and could no longer stand to look at myself in the mirror. That's when I quit the unhealthy foods. Of course, losing 45 pounds and not changing my measurements that much made me *still* hate to see myself in a mirror is one of the things that keeps me re-starting my healthy food plan over and over again. Still being in pain from arthritis also keep me going. I may complain a lot, skip exercising as much as I can get away with, but eventually something else happens, like my blood pressure scare, that wakes me up and brings me back on plan. Everyone has to go through something similar. They have to meet a crisis and surrender the unhealthy behaviors. That's when they'll starting taking care of themselves. Guest guest
I agree with you 100% Sue. My blood pressure is remaining a very normal 130/64 with 64 pulse so I can't complain about that. However, my feet are numb and my back is often so sore I can't walk. I can't shop because I can't stand that long. I have my groceries delivered if it is a large order. I can still handle a short order of about 15 minutes of in-store shopping. I got rid of 6-1/2 pounds of fluid in my legs this week and I'm now back on 40 mg of lasix instead of the 80mg but I'm scared the fluid will come back. I plan to exercise and watch what I eat and watch salt also, which is hard because everything has salt in it. I do need a supplement to the lasix, which my cardiologist and I will discuss in April when I see him again. I'm going to need all the support I can get. Thank you all.
