Guest guest
Sue, I'm so sorry to hear you are feeling so bad! I'm glad you have your antibiotics though! I have this feeling that I will be calling my Dr again on Monday or Tuesday for yet another batch. I was offered Halls and other cough drops today by Teachers and Parents at different times. I guess I'm just resigned to being sick at this point in time. I had to LOL at your discription of your Dr's visit. Some days ya just gotta shake your head and wonder why? LOL... Next time you see your Dr you'll have to let him know how your appointment went I hope your Meds kick in quickly and you feel better soon! Tell the kid and hubby to fend for themselves you have Dr's orders! At least try to stay indoors if possible! a > 5:30 this morning I was driving down the highway taking my kid to college so > he could get some last minute studying in before his 8am History final (It's > been a week and he's still a bit sick, but no longer feverish). > > At 3:30 this afternoon the doctor tells me my throat is raw meat, my lungs > are congested, and she wants me on bedrest for the next week. Guest guest
How are you feeling Sue? We've been busy with holiday stuff and eating too much. Yesterday I took Vonn to a cookie decorating party. The 4 kids had so much fun and I enjoyed chatting with the other 2 moms. Of course too many cookies were consumed by all. We're having Christmas breakfast at our house so I got the refrigerated rolls of croissants and cinammon rolls to bake on Christmas morning. We'll have Christmas dinner at my parents' house. I'm in charge of desserts so I'll make a pecan pie and a pumpkin pie. Hmmmm..... I guess this means that I'm not going to be worrying about controlling my eating for a while. I just wanted to check in and say hi. I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season. Ann
Guest guest
Sue, I hope you're feeling better. Dr sounds like a real treat ARG! it's hard enough to get those darn asthma meds right to begin with and now she wants to change them. I'm assuming that you won't be changing you meds and will be speaking to your own doctor when it's time to refill <GBG> Hope you're getting plenty of rest and enjoying you book. Fall seven times, stand up eight.- Japanese proverb OT - Bedrest? Ha! 5:30 this morning I was driving down the highway taking my kid to college sohe could get some last minute studying in before his 8am History final (It'sbeen a week and he's still a bit sick, but no longer feverish). At 3:30 this afternoon the doctor tells me my throat is raw meat, my lungsare congested, and she wants me on bedrest for the next week. "So sorryabout your holiday plans," she says. Then she starts flipping through my chart looking at 15 year old lab work, suggesting I get various tests done for baseline studies, and startschanging around all my asthma meds that my regular doctor in this practicetook years to fine tune. After a few minutes of futile arguing with her, *then* she decides to takemy blood pressure. Gee, is it any wonder it was 190/90, especially whenshe's using a too small cuff, even after I tell her I *must* have the largerone to fit my fat arm? And while waiting for a nurse to track down the bigcuff she has me hop up on the table again and starts doing some voodoo thatosteopaths like to do, similar to what chiropractors do, with the tuggingand pulling and bouncing, and *then* she takes my BP again with the biggercuff and wonders why it's still high, 130/90 (not that high, considering thecircumstances). Guest guest
>I'm assuming that you won't be changing you meds and will be speaking to your own doctor when it's time to refill <GBG> Since I get a three month supply every time I refill them, and I just got renewals for them all in September, it'll be a while before I have to worry about that. I'm sure to see my regular doc by next September. >Hope you're getting plenty of rest and enjoying you book. I had no choice about the rest, but the book had to fall by the wayside. I was looking forward to reading that book, too, but all the words were a blur, and when my eyes were finally able to focus, my mind couldn't and I had to reread the same line over and over and still couldn't comprehend what was written, and believe me, King is *not* heavy reading (Well, physically, with those 800 page books it is, but not mentally). Last night things finally started to make sense again, and since then I got through over 100 pages. It's due back in the library today, but unfortunately it's going to be delayed until Saturday. I *might* be able to finish it by tomorrow afternoon, but the library is closing at noon and won't re-open until Saturday. I'll be done by then, for sure. Then I can start on the Carl Hiiason book I have. Sue in NJ
Guest guest
can you renew via the phone or online??? don't rush it - you need the rest. Guest guest
>can you renew via the phone or online??? I tried. Being it's a new book and there's a waiting list for it (I waited a month, myself) it can't be renewed. As long as there's nothing good on TV, I always get a lot of reading done. And now hubby has been awake coughing all night long, so in a few minutes I'll be calling the doctor's to make *him* an appointment. So far no sore throat like Henry & I started, but all he needs is to run a 102 fever tomorrow, on Christmas Day. At least he's already off for these 2 days, and will only have to take one sick day Friday, then off another 2. By Monday he *might* be able to go back to work. It's a good thing he has a few leftover vacation days he was going to carry over to next year. Sue in NJ

Guest guest
>good thing you weren't planning big dinner tomorrow. I'm still not sure what we're eating. The kid wants only Mac & Cheese, hubby has no appetite for anything, and I really don't care if all I eat is a bowl of veggies & rice. I guess I'll see how we all feel tomorrow and then toss together something approriate when the time comes. A A Christmas surprise meal. > maybe by attacking it before it's full blown he'll stand a better chance of a quick recovery That's what the doc is hoping. He gave him (and me) an expectorant/decongestant, the same antibiotic Henry had, and an anti-viral, hoping to head it off before it gets full blown. > (he doesn't have lung issues right??) He's about the only family member who *doesn't* have asthma or the bad allergies. But he *is* a man, and we all know how *they* get when sick. Already he's had more aches and pains start up today than I've had the entire year! LOL > Here's praying you all enter 2004 HEALTHY <GBG> AMEN!!
