Not every church has such a counsellor, though. Usually the way it works is that a larger church will have a few of them who are also often praticing councellors. If people need them, them will be given an appointment and the visit will probably be free of charge, especially if it is marital counselling. " This is healthy even though it feels painful--think of exercizing a muscle that is not used to exercising. It hurts to get rejected or unpleasant responses but it gets easier and it's worth it. I had the problem of being the one people came to but when I tried to talk to others they would dash away or get angry as though thinking: 'this is not the dynamics of our relationship--don't change them!' But now I have my husband, who thankfully, has a counselor-type personality and loves helping people and actually does counseling in our church. They were located in Kansas so, I don't know how they look on the east coast. If by fun you mean taking drugs, overdrinking, promiscuity and extreme sports, then no we don't have fun! Otherwise, I have a lot of fun.
