Guest guest
Now when you say natural PB only. Is that the junk with the oil sitting on top. I will never forget last year we were in a store and a lady who was using WIC OR foodstamps not sure. Had a jar of PB in the carriage and they made her take it back because it was not covered. They also made her return 4 boxes of cereal. My heart went out for the poor lady. They really caused a scene and made it quite obvious. I know now in MA they use a credit card type thing for food stamps. My grandmother in law gets it. Thankfully because if it was the old food stamps she would never use them. I think the jar she had was teddy something BUT I saw the oil. Just curious if the one with oil on top is better. I dump the oil off, cutting the calories in half right there. Just remember to keep it in the refrigerator but take it out about a half hour before you use it so it softens. It's the best PB there is - no added sugar or salt - just pureed peanuts. > lady who was using WIC OR foodstamps not sure. This is a big problem with these " obesity " studies nowadays. They complain because poorer people are fatter, yet they won't let them buy healthier foods! >Just curious if the one with oil on top is better. Yes, as long as you dump the oil if it's only for you to eat. But for kids, they need that fat, so just mix it up real well before you put in into the refrigerator, then store the jar upside down. The first few tiems you give it to the kids they'll complain because it doesn't taste like the salty, sugary Jif, but in time they'll learn to like it. Our A & P and Stop and Shop even have store brands of the all-natural ones now, so price is no longer an excuse not to buy it.
