Guest guest
Hi all.. boy has it been a LONG day! We left late and then had to stop at the store and pick up ice. I grabbed some veggies and fruit and a pedometer as well as I ran thru with everyone else in the truck waiting. We drove for what seemed like FOREVER only to get stuck by road construction about 35 miles from the zoo. We were literally STUCK! We put the truck in Park and just sat there. The kids began fighting and ohhhh man what a day! The zoo was HUGE and not laid out well, or at least in my opinion. I think we missed half of the exhibits (ok.. maybe 1/4) and it was HOT HOT HOT!!! 94 and HUMID. We had breakfast before leaving (slice of toast with jam) and then were going to eat at the zoo, but no picnic tables that we could find. Sooo we decided to see the zoo first, that was a mistake! The kids begged for everything they saw... from water to pop to ice cream and shaved ice.. and so on.... We finished the zoo much later then we planned and didn't get to eat lunch until 3:30pm. By that time I had enough to drink and some twizzlers (I Know I'm bad) that I really wasn't all that hungry, but ate a PB & J, 1 serving of cheetos, and some grapes and baby carrots. We then went to Cabellas which was about 10 minutes from where we ate lunch. It was nice when we went in and 7:30 when we got out and a DOWN POUR! I ran to the truck (I almost always drive) and picked up hubby and all the stuff he got INCLUDING *MY* new work out shoes! It was still another 2 hour + drive home and everyone was getting hungry. We called the local Pizza place and ordered dinner brought it home ate and finished about 30 minutes ago. I did not do well with my eating, but hey.. I did make it thru the day without going INSANE! That is always a good thing! Heading to bed now and I will catch up on the rest of the posts tomorrow. a (who walked More then her 2 miles today)

That is always a good thing! > Agreed. In fact, I just saw your fairy godmother--she was flying east. She said she was on her way to your place. Naturally curious, I asked why?? She said she had to hurry and sprinkle fairy dust in your house. (Apparently, it absorbs guilt and self doubt). She said that was an important part of binge prevention. I suggested she hang around longer than usual so she could replace your nasal cannula when it fell out. She got offended and said, " What do you think I am? A nurse? " Then she flitted away.... Ya mean she really exists?! LOL She said that was an > important part of binge prevention. I suggested she hang around longer than > usual so she could replace your nasal cannula when it fell out. She got > offended and said, " What do you think I am? A nurse? " Then she flitted > away.... Thanks for tryin Kim Yep... that dang thing fell out last night and I ended up tossing it to the foor verses putting it back on. I was too tired to care at that point! Oh well... I'll survive I don't know how well her binge prevention worked, I did manage to pop a couple of half frozen fun size snickers before heading off to bed. BUT I didn't eat the whole package, so I guess that was good. Oh the kids fighting in the truck almost all of the way home was enough to drive ANYONE crazy! They just couldn't settle down guess it was just too much for them to do in one day. I don't know if any of you have ever been to a cabella's store, but they have HUGE displays of full mounted animales and this ond has a Large walk thru aquarium of local fresh water fish. Boy would I like to fish in those tanks! All in all it the kids had fun and enjoyed the day, just tried to drive us insane a >

Ok. I just gotta ask why you have snickers in your house. That would be way too much temptation for me. Reminds me that Halloween is right around the corner. Ack. How is everyone going to deal with all that candy? I'll buy something to pass out that isn't my favorite but I can't control what the kids come home with. > Oh the kids fighting in the truck almost all of the way home was > enough to drive ANYONE crazy! Sometimes I'll just pull over and tell them we're not going anywhere until they stop. > > I don't know if any of you have ever been to a cabella's store, We used to get their catalog but I've never seen one of their stores. That's like us and our trips to Manhattan. No shade at all so it's way too hot to go until fall weather hits again. And this October, a subway station near the WTC site is supposed to open up again, so for the first time since 9/11 we'll be back in the downtown area. We listened to the last Magic Tree House book on tape in the car last week and the kids have never been so quiet. Ahhhhhh...... Today we're heading to the water park but it's only 5 miles away. > > The zoo was HUGE and not laid out well, or at least in my opinion.
