Keep up the good work, and I hope some of your goodness rubs off on me today. At least I'm eating a healthy breakfast - oatmeal and banana. My pedometer said I walked over 4 1/2 miles yesterday. Hopefully I can get that much in again today, if my feet can take it.

Guest guest
About nutritional information--in my state, fast food restaurants have to make it available to their customers. It has to be posted somewhere or they have to have it printed to give away. I got one today from DQ. Guest guest
thanks Kim! I'm pretty sure they have to here to, I just wasn't thinking about it at the time I ordered and once I got home I didn't feel like driving the 12 miles back for it. I looked on line and NOTHING. I couldn't even find the restruant even though I know it is all over michigan and in 2 other local states. Now I find *that* odd that there isn't even a mention of them out there. Oh well, I will remember that for the next time I order fast food, which *normally* isn't that often. a
Guest guest
> I've tried the hot & now when visiting my sis in MI - aren't they real similar to a whilte castle burger? maybe you can use that as a 'guesstimate'? > Well... never having been to a white castle, but knowing a bit about their burgers I would have to say yep.. the burgers are similiar. The problems is I got the chicken sandwich so I'm not too sure what that would compare to. Oh well..... Yesterday is done and as it turned out with that and the ice cream I am sure I went over in calories anyways. Today is another day and I'm sure it will be better since I " m not going anywhere (knock on wood!). a
Guest guest
I think the way you handled it was fine. I feel like if we really do our best to be honest about our food, we are miles ahead. At DQ yesterday I asked for some nutritional info. I discovered that the small dipped cone I have been enjoying as 2S,2Fa is closer to 2S,F,2Fa. I was using 's exchanges for a small chocolate cone and our DQ doesn't have chocolate flavored ice milk. I was all out of fruit for the day, so I closed a D instead. I enjoy my weekly DQ treat. Probably next time I won't have the cone dipped. (I would rather have watermelon or a peach). I feel like if we really do our > best to be honest about our food, we are miles ahead. I guess the point is I did try to make the best of it. I think I would have done much better yesteday if I had time on my side. It just seemed that no matter what I did or was doing it took way longer then I had planned for. I do try to be as honest as I can about my food though on occasion a 1 C measure is stuffed as full as I can get it It's still 1 cup right? LOL.... I normally can pass DQ without a problem, but yesterday was just not the best day to drive past a soft serve ice cream place. We've only been to DQ once this year and I've only had soft serve 3-4 times since May so not too bad if you look like it at that I guess. > > I was all out of fruit for the day, so I closed a D instead. I hate cubing it up it takes too long and is really messy. I don't like using those small melong ballers, they take too long too... LOL I have learned to use an ice cream scoop to scoop it all out quickly into a bowl or measuring cup depending if I'm doing the whole thing or just a serving of it. I know they have 1/2 ice cream scoops that would make measuring much easier. Just thought I'd pass it along. a
Guest guest
> Breakfast:> 4 cups watermelon> (4 fruit) This was IT until lunchtime? Why not take some of those lunch windows and have yourself a decent breakfast, or at least a snack when you have time after you get the kids out the door? Watermelon really isn't much of a meal, especially your first for the day. Your blood sugar is at its lowest, and just giving it more sugar is only going to trigger the insulin response which in turn will cause your sugar to drop *more* and make you ravenous, as well as weak and dizzy. The old wives' tale is true - Breakfast *is* the most important meal of the day.

I did forget about that 1oz of roast that I pulled out of the pan and was licking off my fingers when I on line in the morning Yep... but it was a very LATE breakfast considering the time I got up.. more like 10ish so lunch was only about 2 hours or so away.. not too long. >Why not take some of those lunch windows and have yourself a decent >breakfast, or at least a snack when you have time after you get the >kids out the door? It's not acutally what my menu said for breakfast. I was supposed to have cereal and milk, but I really wanted to save those starches until I was sure about dinner... isn't that sad? I would rather eat a poor breakfast so I could have a rich dinner *sigh* oh well... today isn't shaping up much better. I've been up a little over an hour and already been to the bathroom 4 times and am headed there agian in a second! > > The old wives' tale is true - Breakfast *is* the most important meal of the day. Guest guest
Now THAT depends on which diet guru you are listening to. According to Harvey and Marilyn Diamond, " Fit For Life " , we should eat ONLY fruit before noon because it's sugar is absorbed almost instantly for quick energy. They have other theories about food combining, nutritional hygiene etc. Also, Jay Kordich, " Juiceman's Power of Juicing " calls himself a fruitarian. He lives on fruit, nuts, vegetable juices, and occasional bread.
