I am right there with you! I am now on day 2 of my foodmover (AGAIN) and I even have my oldest son eating with me to try to make it easier for the both of us. I just hope I can keep it up. My biggest problem is when we are out with baseball for both the boys we get home late and just grab anything. I have to just keep reminding myself that I can do this. I really can! I hope you stay with it as well. I am 209 and would like to be 135. And my one son that is eating healthy with me is 13, 5"10 and I'm sure close to 200. I just don't want him to have the same problems.

We all can do this!~~

I joined this group a couple of months ago and apologize for not posting much. It's just that my attempts at weight loss have been a miserable failure. I stay on program for a week, off for 2, back on, you get the idea.I was at my parent's for dinner on Memorial Day (because of the weather we had to cook inside). I don't know if I've mentioned it, but my Dad found out he is diabetic a few months ago. He had always had a sweet tooth in a big way and drank a gallon of milk a day all by himself. He has drastically changed his way of eating since finding out. He's been on his 1800 calorie diabetic diet for a little over 3 months now and has lost 30 pounds. I saw him the other day and I was thinking - wow. If he can do it, I can too. He looks so much better, and he commented he can actually bend at the waste to tie his shoes now instead of sitting down.With this renewed attitude I dug out my food mover and started over yesterday. I'm doing really well so far, but it seems like the first week for me is always easy- it's staying on the plan for any length of time I seem to have trouble with. Right now I weigh 230 pounds, my highest weight ever. My goal is around 115, so I need to lose half my body weight. It's like I'm carrying around an extra person. That thought disgusts me in a way, but it also keeps me going. Plan ahead so you're not in that time bind. Dinner is cooking away in the

crock pot right now. We're going to have yummy Thai red curry. The kids

will have left over noodles. :P On soccer nights I'd feed the kids before

practice at 6pm and then and I would eat after they went to bed. Only

two more days of school and then we'll be schedule free for a couple of

weeks before girl scout day camp starts. :)

As long as you start again, it's not a total failure!

Well, at apx. 260 when I should be around 130, I fit that category, too.

Right now I'd be happy sliding right out of the 250's and to the 240's. When

I hit 220, that's the weight I had been from the end of highschool until my

pregnancy 20 years ago. I'd be *so* happy to get back there!

That's what we're here for! But not for long - it's now starting to thunder

out there! Will it *ever* end??? Driving down the NJ Turnpike before, the

radio announcer said " The temps are upper 50's and it's rainy. It's a nice

tune to hear now and then, but when you hear it day after day, it gets

tedious. It's like we're living inside a shoe out there. " I understood

completely and turned the car's AC up a bit higher.

Urk! Now it's dark out and a downpour started. Gotta go.

Hi Dawn ! Im glad to see that you have decided to take some

action ! This is a great group of ladies, and I find them to be

TOTALLY supporting when I need it.

Im a big supporter of " planning your meals " ahead of time. I try to

do a few days at a time , at least. Drink plenty of water. I look

forward to chatting with you !

Water and portions are easy- it's just getting myself motivated to

exercise. I love to walk outside, but with this screwy weather I'm

afraid I'll get caught in a down pour.

For me, I have problems with the water on days when I *know* I won't be near

any clean restrooms, and in urban NJ, they're few and far between. :(

I just read on another list last week this quote. Someone asked how does a

person get motivated to exercise each and every day, and another woman

answered that with her health history, Death is the motivator. She knows

that if she does *not* exercise, she'll have recurrences of her problems

(arthritis and heart disease among them) and hasten death. Knowing that

exercise has to be taken like a dose of medicine, if you like it or not, is

how *she* gets her daily exercise in.

Since reading that, I've been exercising every day. Over the weekend it

wasn't much, but the past 3 days I've done a whole exercise video each

morning before breakfast.

I love to walk outside, but with this screwy weather I'm

Boy, do I know what you mean! Yesterday it was sunny and warm when I left

the house to pick up the kid's computer at the Apple store an hour's drive

away. By the time I got there it was raining cats & dogs (Oh, how tempted I

am to insert the joke that I even splashed into a poodle!). Thank goodness I

keep an umbrella in each car for just such emergencies. On the way home, I

left in rain and came home to sunshine, but as I wrote yesterday afternoon,

we then had a sudden darkening and thunderstorms that lasted almost an hour.

Today, though, the sun is shining brightly, the temps are supposed to go up

into the 70's (Really!) and no rain is predicted until " late in the day "

which could mean anywhere from 4 pm until after midnight. I just got back

from the laundromat, and as soon as I get IM's by the kid during his break

in classes, letting me know his computer is working OK, I'm outta here! I'll

pack a nice light lunch to take with me, head to the park, get a little

walking around in down by the bulkhead, then maybe settle in for a bit with

a book.

When the kid's invade after school I'll head home, a bit after 3pm. Dinner

is already in the Crockpot (A Chinese veggie thing) and when the boys get

home after 6 all I have to do is make the rice and serve.

Of course, rain is in the forecast again for tomorrow and Saturday. And

Sunday. And I *think* Monday. (sigh) At least I'm going to get my Vitamin D

today!

I haven't post in a couple of weeks. I thought I had done so well with my

eating and have drank lots of water and when I stepped on the scale and

found that I had stayed the same, not even a pound gone it really made me

depressed. So I haven't felt very positive lately. I have also been

suffering with leg pain and foot pain and I live on ibuprofen. Is there

anyone else that suffers with leg pain or foot pain on here and if so what

do you do for it. I know that my weight is the main reason for the pain.

Dont get discouraged ! You body is probably replacing fat with

muscle !

personnaly, I've found that *my* body hates high impact exercise, ex

walking/running. The constant pounding hurts like hell. Ive always

been that way, even when I was a size 7 ( oh how the days have gone

by) I get on an eliptical trainer at the gym that allows me to

adjust the hieght. It also has a little picture that shows what part

of my leg i am working. I adjust to were there is little impact on

my knees & ankles. It has worked out pretty good so far.

I've also started to lift weights to get my legs stronger. Ive seen

an improvment over the past few weeks.

When I am in pain....its a long soak in the bath tub with some epsom

salts !!

You may want to talk to your doctor or maybe a personal trainer.

They could recomend low-impact exercises for you
