Guest guest
Hi everyone...How is everyone doing? I am doing well. Keeping up with my goal of weight loss. So far lost 6.5 pounds. (started jan 9th) So not too bad. Been exercising & eating much better. I started a weight loss support group of my own so that is helping a lot. I'm about ready for bed soon...i'm finally getting to bed around 12 a.m. instead of 3, 4 a.m. (which i would just stay up & eat all night instead of sleeping when i was tired trying to get work done)...now I just get up early & work etc.. MUCH BETTER! Been off the pop since i started, drinking my water & 1% milk now. simmons is my main tape i work out to so far. It will be nice once I can start going outside & doing things. Right now so cold i can't stand it! Well I hope everyone is doing well. Take care & I " ll try to check in again soon.
Guest guest
Kathy, I need to do the same. There is no need for me to keep 's old IEP's and IFSP's. All his evaluations are on file at Kennedy Krieger - if I ever need them. I'm just itching to do some major cleaning - but I have to do it when my dad will be here to haul stuff to the dump (not sure if our trash carrier would take it or not). Whenever I visit my dad, I look around and think " what am I going to do with all this stuff one day? " ....lol! At least my sister Joni will share the responsibility. Maybe we will get lucky and he'll marry again. He does have a new woman in his life Checking in HI Life here is a little better, I have Mom totally moved out .......... stuff brought here and stuff taken to her/our storage unit. Somewhere in all of this moving around I misplaced my shredder. Mom borrowed it and when she died I thought I brought it home .......... and it's not here lol soooooooooooo dear hubby bought me another one ..... one sure way of the missing shredder to show up heehee I have 2 file cabinets (one 2 drawer, one 4 drawer) and several well LOTS of boxes of needless paperwork that needs to be thrown away. Most of this paper work is Sara's, back to when she was in EI to present. I am such a packrat I have never thrown away anything with Sara's name on it and since Ive gone through this terrible ordeal with moms stuff Im weeding out. I don't want my older kids to have to go through my stuff and say " What was up with Mom keeping all of this junk " lol I worked 2 days on my closet, morning till night and it pretty much organized for a month I found myself moving boxes of stuff from one room to another .......... What a waste of time I'm still having a hard time getting rid of any of moms stuff but today is garbage day and I do have quite a bit out in my driveway so I must be getting better with this. The pool is open but way to cold to swim. Sara attempted yesterday but didn't stay in this frigid water long. Bless her heart, she's put on weight since last yr. all stemming from her medicine and me not watching what she's been eating. She told me after she got into her suit that she needs to diet, listing all of the foods she NEEDS to eat and not eat. I wish she loved salads but she really is not crazy about raw veggies. I see Sara's is maturing if she can look at her self in a suit and say " ooooh Im so chubby " she now sounds like all of my girls (only she is the only one who really is chubby) Kaite takes her for daily walks and she plays hard outside everyday. I think Im going to look into a nutritionist and see if they can help .......... really this might be a waste of time since I DO NOT have a hubby that will coparent in this area. I constantly hear " if Sara wants this let her have it " ..... HELLO ..... maybe hubby needs the nutrition counseling more than Sara does lol I do love him dearly but he is of no help when it comes to the girls and saying NO Sara's IEP meeting is May 10th and I foresee that this will be the battle of my life. They look down, flat out refuse to include children at this level and I will settle for nothing less than what she has now in 5th grade. Sara's best friends Mom told me the same, so at least we will be united on this issue. Now I have to ASAP educate her on how to run meetings and take control and teach her the laws by May 10th ....... her meeting date also lol I will send an advocate with her to help her stay focused. Well, nothing else new, we are bailing to Destin with all of my sibs and their kids Memorial Day week. We are all starved for fun and togetherness .... and not at MY house this year heehee the beach is where I want to run to when life overwhelms me, so after my May IEP meeting I'll be sitting on go lol Love you all Kathy mom to Sara 12 ¸...¸ ___/ /\ \___ ¸...¸ ,·´º o`·, /__/ _/\_ \__\ ,·´º o`·, ```)¨(´´´ | | | | | | | | | ```)¨(´´´ ¸,.-·²°´ ¸,.-·~·~·-.,¸ `°²·-.¸ As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Guest guest
Kathy, There is a young woman, whose mom is on the Down-syn list, who does weight watchers. She lost her extra pounds and continues to eat nutritiously. WW allows points per day (with flex points to use during the week for special meals), stresses drinking fluid, eating veggies, getting fiber in and slowly incorporates excercising (and you add points for that!). Journaling is a must (she can get help) and subtracting points could help her with math. I started WW almost a month ago and have lost over 10 pounds. I buy all fat free products available and basically eat whatever I want within reason. also lost 3 pounds - I'm sure it's because of the fat free stuff I am buying. The minimum age to join is 10 years and I think a note from the doctors is required for minor children. Bless her heart, she's put on weight since > last yr. all stemming from her medicine and me not watching what she's been > eating.
