Guest guest
too hard (a no-no for my arthritic knees)? Sue I was just wondering what you do for your knees. Do you take medications and what exersize do you do? Sansone Question I have a few of her videos, but want more. A few I've had my eye on include Miracle Mile and Walk With Me. Of course, none of the descriptions, either at Amazon or Sansone.com, tell you much about either one. Does anyone on these lists *have* either of these 2 tapes, and, if you do, how do they compare with *other* tapes you may have? Are they very fast? Slow? Any weight work/toning? Too easy (just my speed) or too hard (a no-no for my arthritic knees)? Any info you can give will be appreciated. TIA, Sue in NJReal Moms often have sticky floors, filthy ovens and happy kids. Guest guest
>what you do for your knees. Baby them. I avoid exercises where I have to slide side to side, do deep knee bends, or squat. I modify everything to fit my level. I take things slow and easy. >Do you take medications When they get really bad my doc prescribes a NSAID, like Naprosin, but usually I just take a coated asprin whenever they act up, and use a heating pad or ice pack, deoending on which feels better. > and what exersize do you do? Ever since it first came out in the early 1980's, my favorite exercise tape has been and the Silver Foxes, a tape he did a long time ago especially for seniors and stars celebrity parents, like Jackie Stallone and his own mom Shirley . Nice easy moves but a good aerobic workout. Other favorites are the slower Sansones, the first 2 Sweatin' to the Oldies, and the first BlastOff that I modify slightly. I *used* to walk a lot, but that was in the days before asthma and sciatica. I have a treadmill but that bothers me more than I care to admit to hubby, especially after I begged for one for years before we got this 3 years ago. I also did a lot of riding on my exercycle when I had one and kept the tension low to avoid bothering the knees. There are a few others here with bad knees, including T who had surgery on hers, but she seems to be MIA for the past few months. Guest guest
Hi , That one is a good one - walks two miles alone and three with a group. I actually prefer her with a group for the interaction/distraction. There are also jogging intervals in each mile to up the intensity. If you are used to doing advanced workouts like Cathe, Amy, et al., you may not find this to be very intense. However, the choreography is very simple which makes it easy to make the workout harder - you can carry handweights or wear a weighted vest or belt to up the intensity. You can also work harder by making all the movements bigger. has really grown on me this past year as it is very back friendly for me. Oh - another way Ilike to up the intensity is to throw in some strength training in between the miles - I'll often do my push-ups in between each mile. Take care - hope you enjoy it!Donna From: snowlily1960 <snowlily1960@...>Subject: Sansone Question Date: Monday, October 12, 2009, 5:31 PM After everyone talking about Sansone, you have really piqued my interest in getting one of her dvds. I am looking at The 5 Mile Fat Burning Walk. It is listed as inter/advanced. I was wondering if you have tried this one and if it is pretty challenging? It sounds like a lot of fun from the description. I am going to do my order tonight so I would love to hear your feedback:-)Thanks
Guest guest
Thanks Donna I went ahead and did my order and got Get Chisl'd, and an Amy Bento Kickboxing one (I can't think of the name right now) that sounds really intense and fun. I will get this Sansone one with my next order. It does sound good for those days where you want something a little different and I like the idea that it is all those miles- Sansone Question Date: Monday, October 12, 2009, 5:31 PM After everyone talking about Sansone, you have really piqued my interest in getting one of her dvds.
