THE INVESTMENT

Have you put your money where your mouth is? Of course you have! And what

happens when you do that? You can gain quite a bit of weight by getting your

wallet out and eating. Maybe you`re the kind of person who likes to eat out

in fancy restaurants. You like the fancy environment, the fancy napkins and

dishes. You also love the fancy breads and the very fancy food. Then when

they roll over the fancy dessert cart, you are in fancy heaven!

How much money do you think you`ve dropped in those kinds of restaurants

over the years? You may not like all that fanciness and go for fast food

instead – cheeseburgers, fries, onion rings, tacos, fried fish, sandwiches,

and hot dogs. This food is quick and easy and does not come cheap! Two

dollars here, three dollars there – it all adds up. How many years have you

been shoveling in that fast food?

Then there are the many, many cans of cola you have been consuming. As a

child, I drank colas like they were water. Didn`t you? Those nickels, dimes,

and quarters you spend on snack foods mount up to lots of dollars – M & Ms,

Snickers, Paydays, York Peppermint Patties, potato chips, corn chips,

pretzels, and Cheetos. How many bags of chips do you think you have consumed

in your lifetime? Five thousand? Ten thousand? What about fried chicken

drumsticks or BLT sandwiches? How many have you chowed down?

Yes, you see, all these years, we have all been food banks. We spend, we

eat, and we put on those pounds. Sometimes I meet a person who is

overweight, and they always have to make a joke about how much it costs them

to have such a belly. Not funny.

I want you to stop spending so much money on food! Put yourself on a food

budget and a money budget. If you stop and figure it out, the money you

could have saved could have bought you a car or made a very good down

payment on a condo!

So from now on, be smart! Make better investments in your health and in your

bank account!

Love,
