Sometimes we need that prep time to get our recipes and meal plans in order,

to empty the cabinets, etc., as you've found.

Good luck! It's been a few years since you two were able to do this on a

daily basis.

Minimum Daily Requirements? A few keyword searchs on Google brought up this

site:

http://www.ivillage.com/food/recipefinder/articles/0,11731,238271_293165-1,0

It's an article on iVillage explaining what our daily requirements are. It's

about 7 pages long but tells what we need and why.

But software that tracked exchanges? The only one I ever heard about was the

elusive Deal A Meal cd that came and went back in the mid to late 1990's.

I've never seen it for sale anywhere locally, saw it once at some on-line

catalog but they were out and never expected any more in, as it was a

discontinued item. I've never seen it on ebay or half.com, and it was never

for sale on 's web site. I think it came before his first site, even.

I've looked at different diabetic tracking software over the years, but now

that doctors are moving away from exchange lists and into just restricting

simple carbs, there is no demand for it.

>I'm still looking for something that will do exchanges,

You may as well just use the FoodMover. At least you won't have to worry

about a dead battery. :)

> as I have become pretty sensitive to sugar and carb

Why not look into the Sugar Busters plan? No refined carbs, only whole

grains, no added sugar or most other sweeteners, and allowed moderate

amounts of fat. You may have to play around a bit because of your dairy

allergy, but it looks very workable. The updated book was just released last

week and I just started reading it yesterday. Their message board is

http://www.sweettalkplus.com/cgi-bin/jboard/jboard.pl?page=1

and you can get a general idea of the plan from there.

And don't forget the website http://www.fitday.com that can keep track of

your food and nutritional info.

Thanks Sue, I knew you would have some info. I have thought about

Sugar Busters, but I'm not ready to give up sugar! I thought I

would plan out some days using the FoodMover guidelines and then

enter them into the new software and see what it comes up with for

numbers. My problem with using the FoodMover is that I just

don't.... However, I CAN use it for planning and then record the

info into my Palm. I expect to be using the Palm throughout the

day for other things so I'll have it out and on already. Besides

I'm a sucker for a new gadget!
