Guest guest
Hi, I was very surprised that I lost 4 pounds this week. How the heck did that happen? I went out to dinner Fri. night, lunch and dinner Sat. and lunch on Sun. I ate moderately at the restaurants and was crossing my fingers that I didn't gain. Weird. I haven't lost that much in a week since week #1. This is week 14. Just goes to show that this isn't a nice, neat mathematical equation every week. We can work out butts off and stay the same one week and slack off and lose 4 pounds the next. I have to remember this freebie the next time I work hard with nothing to show for it. I've tried weighing in once a month but it just doesn't work for me. It's going to be tough to maintain my weight this week with Thanksgiving dinner on Sun. I'll be thinking of you all and trying my best to eat in moderation. I won't freak out if I maintain or gain. That's ok as long as we don't eat like it's Thanksgiving every day. Something just dawned on me..... I went shopping with some friends today and we went up two short flights of steps to look at stuff on the second floor of a huge silk flower shop. I wasn't winded at all. I guess 3 months of walking is paying off. When I came back down stairs I don't think my knees hurt as much as they used to. I really want to get 90 more pounds off my poor knees and ankles. I did pretty well at a meeting at Le Madeleine tonight. I had a regular size chicken caesar salad. I ate two extra slices of bread but I didn't have the Napolean that looked so good. I had 4 glasses of water with dinner. Maybe that's why I still feel full. Thurs. night will be tough. I have book club. Last month I felt like I ate an embarrassing amount of food. Hmmm...... I have to prevent this from happening again. I need to eat a big bowl of shredded wheat cereal before I go so my tummy is full. I think that will help alot. I hope you all have a healthy week. We're enjoying warm, clear weather so I have no excuse not to get out and walk walk walk! I was cruising along just fine when my kindergartener said she wanted to make S'Mores. No problem. I try to be an accomodating mom when I can so I said sure. She was playing camping with my 2 year old and I wanted to do anything I could to encourage them to play nicely together. That is pretty rare around here. We had a few chocolate graham crackers in the cabinet so I pulled those out. Dh and Lynn (6 year old) went camping last weekend so I rummaged around in the bag they brought home assuming I would find some leftover marshmallows. I found the marshmallows and an entire bag of Hershey's Kisses. Yikes! I thought I was rid of chocolate temptation after the good trick or treating candy was consumed. Grrrrr..... There is a reason why I don't have this sort of thing in my house. I can't handle it. I ate too many of the evil little things. Ugh. I'm not even a chocoholic but I still find it hard to resist. At least I didn't eat the whole bag. I did eat two S'Mores though and they were way too sweet and chocolatey. It was funny that both kids ate a S'More and then asked for apples instead of eating their second S'Mores. Ann
