I went to him concerning my fillings. Nice guy. Didn't do it as I was

wanting to get pregnant soon and that's a big NO NO!! But after dd is done

nursing (whenevr that is) I'll be back. I thought I had read that mercury

fillings were banned? I do know I read that if they were administered to a

pregnant woman after 1998? that the dentist could be sued as they had been

informed that it's a NO NO!!!

No, they are not banned. No one will admit the complicity of ADA and

mercury companies

dental stuff.I will have to go look for a dental elist.I am calling the

first dentist and telling them I want the records/x-ray.I don't know if I

will go with the first and just tell her to fill the one cavity. She will

probably say I have to do all or nothing.I will call the second dentist and

cancel saying no way to the amalgam. From my research I keep seeing that it

is safe, been used for 150 years, and yada yada. Some countries recommend

against the use of it in pregnant women and children, but fall short of

saying there is any risk.Kinda of like avoid thimerosal in vaccines, but if

there is nothing else go ahead because there is nothing to prove it is unsafe.

cause hormonal changes, but again I read it isn't *really* a problem. Looks

like I need to get the MSDS on the resin fillings as well.

>Can anyone tell me if an x-ray tells how bad a cavity is or not? With the

first dentist it just bugs me that she says a pulpotomy/cap might be needed

in the 4 cavities, while the second said she did not even need to use

novacaine when she filled the one cavity in dd.It just puts up a red flag.I

though the x-ray was supposed to tell how deep a cavity was.If I had known

that it was useless and a dentist can only tell the extent of damage once

*in* the tooth, then I would not have agreed to the x-rays!
