OT - laptop + pregnancy

I was wondering if anyone could advise as to the use of a laptop computer

and being pregnant.

For precaution I have started to use it on a table rather than my lap (I'm

23 days pregnant - so do not want any adverse effects)!

Also Sheri - is there any contraindications with homeopathic remedies and

pregnancy?

I'm already staying away from herbal teas until I read up on the ones

specific for NOT during pregnancy and I'm staying away from my essential oil

cupboard - until I research of course.

I know it's really premature but I can't wait until this baby is born and

has no vaccs, my son had his until 4 mos and we've never gone back. He's not

seen a doctor for almost 36 mos. - has never needed to. Very few colds -

perhaps 1 - 1 1/2 a year and little fever activity. Had chicken pox and came

through it easily.

I remember when Mitch was little and we would visit friends with their

babies and everyone would talk about how they needed this pediatrician, they

were easy to talk to and had convenient hours and how often they had to be

there, coughs, colds, sniffles, ear aches, etc.

When I was questioned, I just shrugged, had absolutely no clue as to what

they were talking about -- odd thing was that they all thought their kids

were healthy! Oh my Tommy's very healthy, and then they would go on which

meds he was taking and how many doctor's visits they were going to, etc. -

Odd.

Thanks for any assistance,

Sider

I don't know much about the subject either but they do have screen

covers that minimize radiation from computer monitors. Also there

are products that you can wear (necklace) that reduces effects of

radio/other harmful waves. Do a search on polarized necklace or the

like.

Good luck

The Levenger catalog has low-profile laptop tables if you'd like a way to

have your laptop convenient but not right against your belly. (I've been

looking at them because dh has mentioned treating me to a laptop for my

birthday.) Like Sherri said, the lcd screen on the laptops are preferable by

far to the typical crt's used for desktop machines. However, laptops can be

quite heat-generating, so best not touching you even if you aren't pregnant,

for comfort and ventilation. Anyway, that's one of the reasons why my kids

have an lcd flat-panel monitor on their desktop computer. Kids really get up

close to the monitor more than adults often do. We have it mounted on the

wall so that little ones can'[t knock it off the table and break it.
