Guest guest
I used a mouth guard at night for my TMJ. I would grind my teeth, especially at night. You can get them at sporting goods retailers. Football players use them. I also made a conscious effort to keep my jaw relaxed. Strangely enough chewing gum helped also. I lost the guard after about 18 months. But by then I was symptom free and have had no more problems since. That was over 10 years ago. TMJ is usually caused by something. Probably stress in your life. You should make time to relax. As much for yourself as for your family. Good luck, Amy Waters a little off the subject... I have a question for anyone who may be able to help. I have TMJ which is causing me a lot of jaw pain the past few weeks, due to stress and my doctor precribed me Darvocet for the pain. I'm nursing my 7 month old and am uneasy about taking the med. I asked the nurse on call and she said it was ok as did the pharmasist. But, you know how they all are. I'm seeking more opinions. Also, does anyone know of a more natural pain reliever? Thank you, Kate mother of Madisun....Maine ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
I don't think I would take darvocet while nursing but that's just me.They sell those mouth guards at Wal-Mart also. When I feel it (TMJ) coming on I keep my tongue between my teeth. It really works for me.I bet a good Homeopath could help. Kane > I have a question for anyone who may be able to help. Guest guest
I am in another group called Bfg-HerbsDiscussion (it's about homeopathic remedies while breastfeeding). You may consider checking there and seeing if anyone has a suggestion.... HTH! > > I have a question for anyone who may be able to help.
