Guest guest
I posted this earlier, but my email never came through so I hope this doesn't end up coming through twice... Another board mentioned the spleen being part of the immune system which started me thinking and researching... My brother-in-law had his spleen removed over 10 years ago due to a motorcycle accident. He was told his body could manage without it and never given any other information. Since then, he suffers from extreme fatigue and is always sick. (When he gets a fever, it takes off and hits 105-106 quickly!!!) So far, his solution to the fevers has been antibiotics (which his Dr. will prescribe over the phone) along with fever reducers. For fatigue, he takes a ton of caffiene pills and other energy drinks all the time which I can only imagine the damage that does! From my brief research, his problems seem to be related to missing his spleen. If that's the case, what can he do to make up for the loss?? I hope to find something so he'll stop all of this pill popping and be able to function normally. Also, my sister is thinking he needs to see a Dr. and I know that'll lead to vaccines and various medicines. I'd rather not see him on that route either... If it matters, the Dr.'s removed his appendix a year later. I haven't found much info on that though. Thanks!!!
