Keys to the Treasure Chest - The Right Combination

If you live near, or are able to get to, Vancouver, British Columbia at the

end of January, I would recommend you check out attending this conference about

Friday, January 30th, 2004

Temple Grandin, PhD

Dr. Temple Grandin has published two groundbreaking books on her experience

beyond neuro-typicals " Emergence: Labeled Autistic " and " Thinking in Pictures. "

In her heartfelt presentations, Temple gracefully and lucidly bridges the

gulf between her condition and non-ASD perceivers, shedding light on the riddle

of our common identity. She is also a gifted animal scientist who has designed

one third of all the livestock-handling facilities in the U.S.

Come and hear about what is new in the world of autism treatments from

someone who has lived the autistic experience. Temple will delve into

sensory/sensitivity issues, challenges with language & learning, and the unique

ways that

people with autism process information. She will review some of the new

medications available and will also discuss what is new in the area of brain

research.

Finally, she will discuss careers that are well suited for high-functioning

autistics.
