They are your medical records not the doctor's. Just state that you want

them forwarded to you as you have not chosen another Doctor yet. Be adamant,

they are not his. I obtained mine without any problems.

You just fill out/sign a consent/release and they have to send them to you.

And I had to sign one of their release forms. A letter was not needed.

They faxed me the release and then I signed it and faxed it back.

Having worked for several chiropractors in the past (and copying

medical records was part of my job), I can say that legally the

records are the doctors, but as Sherry stated, you should have rights

to copies of them. More than likely you will have to sign a release

form to get them. I would call them, let the receptionist know you

want copies of your records, give them time to get them done and go

in and pick them up. They might charge you for them so I'd ask about

that if you call. Even if you send them a letter, they will probably

still have you come in to sign their release. This is just to cover

the doctor.

You know...I was trying to get my husband's wheels turning again at a

restaurant after church. So, I asked him if I thought it was ethical that

doctors refuse service to parents that won't allow vaccinations for their

children. His thought was that maybe the it's because the insurance

companies won't cover medical assistance for a patient (child) that comes

down with something that was vaccine preventable. As nuts as that sounds to

me, maybe you can do me a small favor and ask the doctor (unless it's in

his/her letter) for his reason(s). If his letter gives a full explanation,

maybe you wouldn't mind faxing me a copy? I could show it to my husband.

Unless you can scan it, save it as a jpeg and send it to me....and you

know...anyone else who's been refused service in the past for not letting

your ped vaccinate your child....if the ped told you why....I'd love to be

able to find out from you too. I'd really like to be able to " share " it

with my husband...you know...keep planting more seeds of doubt in him=)

I hear weekly about people being refused. They don't like to be questioned

first place

and in some cases it has to do with policies of HMO's.

In the UK they drop people who don't vax because when they get to a certain

percentage of their patients vaxed they get bonus$$$$$. And by dropping

those that don't, their % goes up.

at the treatment of aids, cancer etc.... the " medical "

Kimberley - If his letter did state something specific I wouldnt mind

sharing it at all. It was very vague.....

Here is what it said in short form:

" I find it necessary to inform you that I am withdrawing from further

professional attendance upon your children because of failure to

follow my medical advice and treatment plan. You share with a

physician the responsibility for your children's health care. "

It went on about how to have a new Dr send for med records.

I am going to get his records and then blast him with what I think of

him. I will secure a new MD before this though just so I can prove

that I am providing medical attention that he so thinks I am

ignoring..grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I have a consult with a Dr on the 6th. I have met her before and she

has seen my daughter. She goes to a chiropractor and seems more

eager to listen to me. These are 2 things in her favor.
