Guest guest
Amy there is no medical test for them to do to see if your kids have been vaccinated or not. They do not treat unvaxxed kids different then vaxxed. When they ask just say she is as up to date as she is ever going to be. Its not a lie because she is up to date. Guest guest
Well my oldest is fully vaxed up to and including Kindergarten but found out from my dd that she never recieved her MMR booster and i would have swore she did. Middle 2 childern all up to 15 mo no booster or Kindergatern vacines 2 of my children i consider to have had minor reactions or the DR said htey were minor and NEVER notated them. My baby is NOT vaxed And i offenw onder what is the right thing to say if i need be asked I took my son last yr for stitches in his forehead after falling on a rusty old snowplow and they asked and i said he is all u to date she says oh yeah he looks about kindergarten age then 3 weeks ago when he broke his arm they asked me if he was up to date uggh I said yeah. I just often wonder what is the RIGHT thing to say is there a right thing. And can they blame you for mEdical neglect does any one truely know? I mean it is LEAGAL to NOT vaccinate right? amy DId you know ?
Guest guest
When the triage nurse asked me if Chase was up to date on his vaxes when I went to the hospital with him for stitches, I went into a vaccine rant you wouldn't have believed. He was extremly sorry he asked. He tried to change the subject several times before we saw the doctor. I also commented on the shaken baby warning signs poster they had on the wall that showed the supposed signs of shaken baby syndrome. I told them all those signs were vaccine damage and he should be ashamed to put that poster up. If you feel comfortable in challenging them don't lie and go off for a while... if not just don't offer any info. Guest guest
I felt this same way. When my daughter was 15 months old she fell and broke her leg. I was freaking out thinking of how I would answer that question. I was so thankful when the question was nicely worded as, " Would you like her to have any recommended shots while she is here or is she all set? " Whew.................. I was thrilled, but I do wonder how I would have answered otherwise. I think I would say that we had started them but that my kids had a reaction I was not comfortable with so we are " holding off " for now. I think that would have been fine looking back now. hth, Diane
Guest guest
I always tell people she has had all the shots she needs. Guest guest
You don't have lie, perse, but just tell them that your children are up to date, they are as far as you are concerned. My doctor is pretty much anti vaccine and she tells her patients that they can say that, she said that nothing is done differently if they vaccines or not and that no harm will come out of it. If you say that they aren't, then they can use " strong arm " tactics to try to get you to vaccinate, it happened to my chiropractors, they are a husband and wife team and they took their son in for some injury and told them that they don't vaccinate. They were put into a room where two different doctors came in to try to convince them of vaccinating. Sara Vaccines and the law > I have read all the info for my state as far as the school part goes. I can > claim an excemption but what about regular things. Here is a senario What if > some one turns you in to CPS and they find out you dont vax or what if you have > to go to ER and they turn you in. Can NOT vaxing be considered Medical > neglect? I have been thinking this alot especially with all this flu and stuff. What > if i had to take my dd to Er for anything from sickness to a cut that required > stitches and htey ask about vaccines I dont want to not tell them we DONT vax > I think its important to tell them the truth. So I guess my main ? is IS not > vaxing grounds for Medical neglect. We havent done any well visits for some > time over a yr i am sure I dont believe in WELL visits. > thanks > amy > > > > > DId you know ? > > > > > > >
Guest guest
That is why we have a doctor and take the kids for all well child visits, they also see a chiropractor twice a month. I don't want anyone to say that my children are medically neglected. Sara > And can they blame you for mEdical neglect does any one truely know? Guest guest
I can be considered medical neglect. There have been cases of children taken away from parents and placed in foster care and vaccinated. In IL, we have a law that says CPS cannot be called in regards to vaccination. This law has only been passed in the last few years. So, you might want to check with your state laws. Some states are trying to force vaccination by making state aid dependent on the child's vaccination status. As far as I know, however, routine vaccinations are part of educational/daycare law. This is why even a daycare that receives public funds must accept a religious exemption and a private daycare does not. I used to be an in your face non-vaccinator. Now, I answer the question truthfully because I know my rights as far as CPS is concerned, but I tend to tell the person that my physician and I are in complete agreement with my child's status, and that they are more than welcome to call him with any questions. I don't have to add this last bit, but it makes me come across as having medical support for my decision. > I just often wonder what is the RIGHT thing to say is there a right thing. > And can they blame you for mEdical neglect does any one truely know? When they ask me if mine are up to date, I just say No and they don't usually ask anything else. Could mean they are only missing one, could mean they've never been vaccinated. No one (including St. V's ER in north Toledo and St. Luke's in Maumee) has ever asked further questions about it. I did tell the nurses at St. Luke's in Maumee that Shayna hadn't been vaxxed at all and they never seemed concerned about it nor did they ask anymore questions, she'd been admitted for dehydration. AND - Hell yeah it's legal to NOT vaccinate. ;-) Ohio )0(~~~)0(~~~)0( Mom to Brittany, born 8/31/93, dx'd-IDDM 5/28/01; , born 6/28/97; and Shayna, born 6/1/00. Vaccine free since 1999!
