Here's some tips from Medlin-the NC mom with the 3 billboards: Do you have friends/family that would go in with you?? Just look up your local BB companies....and tell them what you want to do. See what ideas they come up with....they may come up with something better than above so don't offer that idea first. If they don't and you like the idea above ask them about doing it that way. You might just be surprised what folks will give you when you explain everything. The guy who came up with the plan above is with Lamar....they are all over the country. He felt if you contacted any Lamar with this idea they would go for it. IF YOU ARE GOING TO CALL LAMAR LET ME PUT YOU IN TOUCH WITH THIS GUY FIRST. WHAT DO YOU WANT YOUR BOARD TO SAY?? and btw....people have asked if they could use our wording/design....fine by us....others have their own spin on what they want to say....all of it is great....BECAUSE WE ARE EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ON SOMETHING NOBODY ELSE WILL ---------- I am so glad you emailed back...forgot to mention a few other things. Drive around your town and see if any billboards are for rent...get the number and call. I just tell them my story and I want to raise awareness. You never know until you ask...you may get something for nothing...or close to nothing. Just contact several billboard companies in your area and see what they will offer to " a parent " ....you maybe surprised. Sometimes the easiest way to find out local bb companies is to simply drive around and get the name off the boards. If you look at the picture of our bb you will see the name " Fairways " on the brown metal part of the board....sometimes you have to look close to find the name. I can see where this might generate quite a few emails which may clog this group. We can always report back to this group as to our progress if others are interested.
