Mahavacsera To Produce Halal Vaccines

SHAH ALAM, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- Newly- launched Mahavacsera (M) Sdn Bhd is

set to produce " halal " vaccines and biological products, which are backed by

Egyptian technology, to cater for Malaysian and Far East markets in 2005.

Mahavacsera had identified a site in Bio Valley, Dengkil, near here to set

up its laboratory and manufacturing facility estimated to cost RM80 million,

Mahabiofarma (M) Sdn Bhd's executive chairman, Datuk Dr Sidek Nontak, told

reporters here today.

Mahavacsera is 70 percent owned by Malaysia-based Mahabiofarma and the

balance by Egypt-based Vacsera Plc.

The formation of the joint venture company was witnessed by Selangor Menteri

Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo here Wednesday.

Vacsera Plc is one of the largest vaccine producers in Egypt. It has been in

existence for 108 years and has established markets in 30 countries mainly

in Africa and West Asia.

Dr Sidek said the construction of the laboratory and manufacturing plant

would start next year.

He said Vacsera would second their personnels to assist Mahavacsera in the

technical aspects.

Initially, Mahavacsera would market 15 vaccines and biological products

under Vacsera Malaysia brandname, he said.

" We will retain the Vacsera name as it is already an internationally

recognised brandname, " Dr Sidek said.

Among the products to be produced and marketed are human monocomponent

insulin, erythropoietin, medical test kits and diagnostics and vaccines

including mumps, measles and rubella, meningococcal and influenza.

Dr Sidek said the market was huge for such products in the Asian region

given a high birth rate and health requirements.

For the Malaysian market alone, he said, it was estimated to account for

RM250 million annually.

Meanwhile, Vacsera's chairman, Dr Mohamad El Abbadi, said Vacsera was

satisfied with the stakeholding in Mahavacsera.

" We have 30 percent. We like it because we want to be with you, " he said.

He hoped the production facility here could be utilised to cater vaccine

requirements of 1.2 billion Muslim ummah all over the world.

Guess you are right, Sue. How sad that people don't get that the

entire vaccine paradigm is a scam. My tact these days is to simply

share the real difference between vaccinated children and

unvaccinated ones. Must write more on this for our newsletter.

Thanks for sharing this, Sue, even though it is quite sobering :-(
