Well, from around 3pm on it's really hard for me to get computer access - I

usually have to bribe the kid or fight the husband for it.

>All the ones I receive by 8 am east coast

Well, I guess I can report when I come on-line at 5:30am while making

hubby's coffee and breakfast.

> learned from other boards that some really have trouble with water. Some

The older I get, the more trouble I have - not drinking it, getting to a

place to get rid of it fast enough. Blame it on a 48 year old bladder! LOL

> suggestions I have learned are crystal light, or diet ice tea. I know

there

When I was growing up, and even while working as a nurse in the hospital,

those things counted towards a daily fluid intake for people who had to have

their liquids restricted. Soup. gelatin, even ice pops had to count. BUT, if

you want to flush those kidneys of all the excess minerals and protein that

have been building up, it's good old water that does the job.

>I personally try

> to do 3/4 water and 1/4 of one of the other two I mentioned.

I ws one who *hated* water and would mix anything and everything in it to

avoid drinking it plain. I lived on diet sodas until they took out the

saccharine and aded aspartane, a substance I have a reaction to. Then I

discovered seltzer and would drink *that* exclusively. After a few months my

doctor took blood work due to a med I'm on, and found my electrolytes were

totally out of whack. When I showed him my food log and he saw all that

seltzer, he flipped! He said the body can only tolerate about 12 ounces of

that stuff a day, *any* carbonated beverage, before it affects the blood's

lab values. I was ordered off all soda and seltzer immediately. Now, if I

have one glass of diet soda from a fountain a year, that's a lot.

But I remember spending every morning of high school in the cafeteria with

my friends before classes, each of us with a buttered roll we brought from

home and a can of Tab from the school's soad machine. The breakfast of

champions.

You would be

> surprised how good that 1/4 tastes. LOL

To me, that one soda a year I drink is usually way too sweet now. I actually

prefer water.

Yeah, I know I'm weird. :)

Okay, I admit it...I suck, I hate water. I have this aversion to it ever since

I had to drink a lot for an ultra sound and well, expelled it in a most

indelicate manner.

But I try...so today I have had 3 glasses of water, 2 glasses of CL, 2 glasses

of iced tea with lemon, 1 cup of decaf= 8 glasses of fluid. Need more. I know.

As Scarlett O'Hara said, " Tomorrow is another day " .

Good news-I EXERCISED. Yes I did. I moved my big white booty into Curves today

and shook my grove thing until it couldn't shake any more.

Take care gals

(shake my groove thing, shake my groove thing yah yah)

LOL!!

I had 4 or 5 of those things over the years, and there *is* no delicate

manner to get rid of it, especially after a person has been leaning down on

your bladder for a half hour with a cold, gooey paddle.

>cup of decaf= 8 glasses of fluid.

Well, it's a start. Try to change that ratio today, OK?

And are these 8 ounce glasses? Maybe switching to a tall iced tea glass for

the water (24 ounce) and a small juice glass (4 ounce) for the other stuff

may help, at least subconsciously.

I'm glad to see your sinus infection has finally flown the coop and you

*can* get down and boogie again without the head throbbing.

Too bad we don't have one of those any where around here. It would be nice

to have a place to go with other real sized people, not the model types that

populate the few gyms we have in our city.

time I will add up and post how many replyed and what the total was. So

start drinking.... I know alot say water is water and thats it. BUT I have

learned from other boards that some really have trouble with water. Some

suggestions I have learned are crystal light, or diet ice tea. I know there

are mixed feelings on this. So if you are a CL or Diet ice tea list it

separate from H2O and I will count it in our total as well. I personally try

to do 3/4 water and 1/4 of one of the other two I mentioned. You would be

Sue, what about the YMCA? I don't know what city you're in, but there

might be one within a decent driving distance. There's a few

'hardbodies' in the Y I go to, but they mostly keep back in the free

weights room, leaving the machine to us normal people.

I've seen people of all shapes and sizes, some barely plodding along at

a crawl on the treadmill, some doing reverse situps that just boggle my

mind. Even the people who work at this one are mostly plus-sized women,

aside of the head director and Drill Instructor Barbie.

Must be something in the air. I not only had 3 cups of coffee and 2 tea (I

usually allow myself one of each) but I *also* had a mug of

Splenda-sweetened hot chocolate.

I think I started something - I'm craving a second cup of coffee right now

but I'm trying to behave today.
