Guest guest
> Why can't life be simpler... like in the " Little house on the Prairie " Days.... > I bet their chickens didn't have antibiotics! I did a lot of soul-searching this morning while roaming through the new grocery store. They have a pretty good selection of organic fruits and veggies, eggs from free-range chickens certified anti-biotic and hormone free, and even some cuts of beef certified anti-biotic and hormone free. OK, these meats cost twice as much as regular meats, but for the small amounts I would be needing, I think it's going to be worth it. I decided I'm going to stop obsessing over food and just eat a healthy, well-balanced diet. I've been on " diets " for almost 40 years of my life and I'm heavier than ever. I'm putting away the diet cookbooks, hiding away my FoodMover and Deal A Meal cards, stocking up on real foods. > Go for it... If every Yoga instructors attitudes are like mine, they will work > with your limitations! I really feel it a great help. Well, yoga is offered very few places around here, and the cost is so ridiculously high it's not worth it. One place wants you to sign a contract for 6 months, 2 classes a week at $20 a class. Even the YMCA only offers a 6-week session once a year at an additional $125 on top of the normal yearly fee, non-members not allowed. Most of the classes are held in karate schools and at night and are filled with the svelte and rich and, as far as I know, nobody has anything remotely resembling something a senior or I can do without causing further spinal damage. It looks like I would need a specialty video tape if I want to get seriously into this. > I am not very good at it but I > like to do it. I'm not an expert sew-er, but I do it anyway. > had them for 5 years.... I think I am going to get them back & do them myself. This sounds like a great thing to do! > The other project is to get my BOXES of pictures organized. (I am talking 3 > huge boxes... that I cannot even lift easily!) That's one thing I did keep up with - Henry's pictures. As soon as they come back from the photo place they go right into the books. Of course now that he's 18 and runs away every time I pick up the camera there aren't that many to put away anymore. Thanks for the reminder - I still have the 2 rolls from Christmas to get developed. I'll drop them off Wednesday when everyone goes back to work and school. > communicating. We each get excited about what we are saying & then we talk too > fast (or she will start speaking Moroccan) & then ...... Sounds like something out of a sit-com! I've been on " diets " for almost 40 years of my life and > I'm heavier than ever. I am with you... I think I have been missing the boat.... I have every workout tape & cookbook... every how to fix yourself book from weight loss to ???? I can't believe God wants me to be this obsessive.... I need to give myself a break!!!! > Well, yoga is offered very few places around here, This is the first Yoga class I have seen around here & it is through the Park District... the cost is like $40 for 6 weeks of 2.5 hours a week. I feel lucky.. I do have a tape but I am not good with any tapes... I need to be with other people.... > That's one thing I did keep up with - I wish I would have. Miriam (my 10 year old) has started with LaVigna's Book (that's our restaurant) ... she is doing a great job but has not finished it yet. > > fast (or she will start speaking Moroccan) & then ...... > > Sounds like something out of a sit-com! > Rereading what I posted it does sound like Lucy & Dezi.... trust me, many of their situations are not as far fetched as they seem to normal Americans!!!!! Maybe I should try to write a sitcom... it could be humorous... add the muslim twist to the Lucy / Dezi thing.... man.... I could be a millionaire!!! Why do you put these thoughts in my mind!?!?!?!?! AMEN!!!! My sentiments exactly! I think if I just try to eat food that is as close to the way the God made it -- I'll be OK!
