I did a lot of soul-searching this morning while roaming through the new

grocery store. They have a pretty good selection of organic fruits and

veggies, eggs from free-range chickens certified anti-biotic and hormone

free, and even some cuts of beef certified anti-biotic and hormone free. OK,

these meats cost twice as much as regular meats, but for the small amounts I

would be needing, I think it's going to be worth it.

I decided I'm going to stop obsessing over food and just eat a healthy,

well-balanced diet. I've been on " diets " for almost 40 years of my life and

I'm heavier than ever. I'm putting away the diet cookbooks, hiding away my

FoodMover and Deal A Meal cards, stocking up on real foods.

Well, yoga is offered very few places around here, and the cost is so

ridiculously high it's not worth it. One place wants you to sign a contract

for 6 months, 2 classes a week at $20 a class. Even the YMCA only offers a

6-week session once a year at an additional $125 on top of the normal yearly

fee, non-members not allowed. Most of the classes are held in karate schools

and at night and are filled with the svelte and rich and, as far as I know,

nobody has anything remotely resembling something a senior or I can do

without causing further spinal damage. ;)

It looks like I would need a specialty video tape if I want to get seriously

into this.

I'm not an expert sew-er, but I do it anyway.

This sounds like a great thing to do!

That's one thing I did keep up with - Henry's pictures. As soon as they come

back from the photo place they go right into the books. Of course now that

he's 18 and runs away every time I pick up the camera there aren't that many

to put away anymore. Thanks for the reminder - I still have the 2 rolls from

Christmas to get developed. I'll drop them off Wednesday when everyone goes

back to work and school.

Sounds like something out of a sit-com! :)

I am with you... I think I have been missing the boat.... I have every workout

tape & cookbook... every how to fix yourself book from weight loss to ???? I

can't believe God wants me to be this obsessive.... I need to give myself a

break!!!!

This is the first Yoga class I have seen around here & it is through the Park

District... the cost is like $40 for 6 weeks of 2.5 hours a week. I feel

lucky.. I do have a tape but I am not good with any tapes... I need to be with

other people....

I wish I would have. Miriam (my 10 year old) has started with LaVigna's Book

(that's our restaurant) ... she is doing a great job but has not finished it

yet.

Rereading what I posted it does sound like Lucy & Dezi.... trust me, many of

their situations are not as far fetched as they seem to normal Americans!!!!!

Maybe I should try to write a sitcom... it could be humorous... add the muslim

twist to the Lucy / Dezi thing.... man.... I could be a millionaire!!!

Why do you put these thoughts in my mind!?!?!?!?!

Happy New Year!

AMEN!!!! My sentiments exactly! I think if I just try to eat food that is

as close to the way the God made it -- I'll be OK!
