Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: Sue in NJ How long does each adjustment "hold"? When I used to go every 4 weeks, I had very little trouble. Lately, I've been holding out as long as possible in order to save money. BUT, our new health insurance kicked in yesterday so now I can start going regularly again! I can also make an appointment with a podiatrist like I've been wanting to do for a year AND have my mammogram that is 6 months overdue! The sciatic pain (more like a throbbing ache) is there again this morning and I don't know whether to walk or not.... Sue R
Guest guest
> Pain is a messge from your body to stop what you are doing that is causing it. In your legs it can also be a message that you are retaining fluid or not getting enough oxygen. If you stop for a minute and it noticibly lessons, we are talking oxygen. Have your blood pressure checked. Warm and cold packs can help as can elevating you legs. Robaxacet can help, as can freezing that nerve area so it relaxes, or a cotisone shot if it is joint related, or brain surgery to shut down you pain center (don't choose this one, it leaves you partially paralized). If you choose to continue to work through the pain cause you are either a tough chick or a nut case, just remember that you are doing damage to your body, those muscles around that nerve are tightening as a safety messure and you are going to hurt them by forcing them to work. Your body is giving you a message, a warning, then if it decides you are too dumb to listen, it will simply seize up and refuse to work with you at all. My body and I have lots of pain issues and that old axiom that " pride goes before a fall " really takes on a new meaning when your whole back seizes and you go splat on the ground!!!! REst, exercise some none affected area if you must, but tell your body that are cooperating before it decides to get nasty....
