sounds like a Harry Potter adventure.

<_> We are making many changes in the clubhouse-giving you

more to do, and more ways to stay on program and more tips for exercise.

<_> We are a family, you know! Thousands and thousands

strong-I am glad that you made time for me tonight.

<_> Hey, you see that button that says printout?

<_> Printout my Stop The Holiday Madness Calendar! Print a

couple of copies out.

<_> Put one in the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, car, pocket and

one in your shoe. That way you will never, ever forget it.

<_> I went through lots and lots of questions, and we had

hundreds.

<_> I am going to answer as many as I can because I want you

to enjoy the holidays and lose weight during the holidays and exercise

during the holidays.

<_> So when we have our next chat in December, you have lost

some weight, focused on your exercise and have a better attitude and all of

that can happen in one month.

<_> So, what do you say we take some questions?

<Typing_Angel> Hi, : some help and advice please! Faced with REALLY

tempting stuff, I have NO CONTROL at all!! Why am I still so weak in the

face of my ultimate goal!!? I did so great on Thanksgiving and then blew it

the day after with leftovers & sweets! Love, Sad

<_> Take a deep breath-sit up straight. Holidays sometimes

take our focus away.

<_> That's why you must keep your guard up at all times.

<_> It's not just doing great for one day.

<_> You have to get up every morning and plan that day and try

not to detour.

<_> Sometimes you have to look at the situation and be an

adult about it.

<_> The kid inside you says I want that cookie, that piece of

cake, I want more stuffing. I need that turkey leg right now!

<_> But the adult in you is saying, I have been doing terrific

and I am going to continue doing terrific.

<_> I am on a roll and each day I know I will be stronger.

<_> The adult gives speeches.

<_> So please listen to them and before you go to bed tonight,

write down your current weight and your goal weight and do your

subtractions.

<_> Think about that number and how better you will feel when

you get there and it sure does beat another helping of mashed potatoes and

gravy. Just think results!

<Typing_Angel> Dear , My question is how to not hurt well-meaning

peoples' feelings by not eating something they have brought into the work

place. Or just have a little but then if you have a LITTLE from a LOT of

people....

<_> If you have a little from a lot of people, you will have a

lot of fat cells all over your body.

<_> We always hurt the ones we love, so go ahead and hurt

them! Just joking, but if you turn the table around,

<_> you are hurting yourself if you nibble here and nibble

there, it becomes a meal and many of us can put away five to six meals a

day.

<_> Talk more at the table and learn to taste, eat smaller

bites and push things around your plate.

<_> Tell them if you have one more bite, well you better not

tell them that.

<_> What always works for me is if you add a bit of sing song

to your voice I don't want any-try it.

<Typing_Angel> I'm getting started again. How do I get re-motivated at this

time of the year? I hate buying larger clothes, and I hate that I have these

little sizes I so easily fit into before which won't come close to zipping

up now. How do I get more positive about myself?

<_> And you are not breathing very well in tight clothes.

<_> Go buy yourself a few things that look pretty on you and

are comfortable.

<_> People cannot think clearly in clothes whose zippers do

not meet and say hello.

<_> Today, right now is a perfect time for you to take those

weight loss vows.

<_> You just have to look in the mirror and look right into

your eyes and just say I can do it this time.

<_> I am at a point now in my life where I got to do something

and I choose to take some positive steps like eating healthy and exercising.

<_> To keep my motivation intact.

<_> So buy something cute and comfortable and make that

commitment tonight before you go to bed and plan your meals for the next

day.

<_> Consciously think of breakfast, lunch and dinner. And then

do it! I know you can.

<Typing_Angel> How would I count prime rib? We are having that for Christmas

Dinner. My father cuts the slices thick, too. How would I count it?

<_> I want to talk to your father!

<_> Or just give him a message for me.

<_> Tell him prime rib tastes better thinly cut.

<_> You really get to taste the flavor of the meat.

<_> There is fat in that prime rib and it is one of the

fattiest meats out there.

<_> If you have three ounces of prime rib, you would have to

count three protein cards and one or two fat cards, depending on the

moralization of the meat.

<_> And don't be putting that prime rib gravy all over,

because then you have to close another couple of fat windows.

<_> Mix up some fat free sour cream with fresh grated

horseradish with a drop of tabasco sauce.

<_> That will taste yummy and cost hardly nothing. People are

eating a lot of fresh fish and chicken dishes during these months.

losing yet. The holidays bring on my depression. What can I do to get out of

this depression?

<_> I'm sorry you are feeling a little gray about this time, a

lot of people do.

<_> Why are you depressed?

<_> Did you lose someone at this time of the year or are you

thinking about a loved one?

<_> Before you can chase the blues and grays away, you have to

figure out why.

<_> You must be joyous this holiday season.

<_> How do you get joyous? By being around friends and family

that love you and you love.

<_> By staying busy and if your mind wanders to a negative

thought, you put some music on.

<_> Go rent some great holiday classic movies It's A Wonderful

Life, White Christmas, or my very favorite holiday flick, Valley of the

Dolls!

<_> I know you are laughing-please stop talking about prime

rib in the chat rooms-I MEAN IT!

<_> Anyway, do things to make you smile.

<_> Decorate your house and wrote your Christmas cards and

send cute holiday emails to your friends. Do everything to lift your

spirits.

<Typing_Angel> * bingo How is your friend Eiljah doing?

<_> Oh, my greatest Thanksgiving and Christmas gift-he is in

rehabilitation in New Orleans for the next week or so and then he gets to go

home.

<_> He is doing wonderful and I talk with him in the evenings

and we laugh and cut up. That's my Elijah.

<_> I told him everyone on the web sends their best and I know

you do. I will keep you posted on his recovery.

<Typing_Angel> * Boswell Hi, ... just joined the club on 11/25/01. I

haven't done too bad at eating, but wonder if I should have waited to join

after we get back from vacation!

<_> Oh, you said the V word!

<_> First, let me welcome you to the club.

<_> We're here to please you in any way and to keep you

motivated and inspired, but please, please, please don't wait until you come

back.

<_> You have to stay on program during the holidays or you

will just be upset after the holidays.

<_> I don't say this to scare you but in one month you can

gain 8-12 pounds and well that means we didn't really help you much on your

journey.

<_> Do you have a food Mover, some videos?

<_> Do you want to dance and hold me tight?

<_> Take a deep breath and start now, tonight!

<_> You'll be ahead of the game and by January 1st, when

everyone else is getting on the scale and fainting, you will be flying, so

come fly with me.

reminding you how fat you are compared to how good you " use to look " .

<_> You think you are having dinner in the wrong house?

<_> Seriously, go outside and check the address.

<_> I guess this has happened to you before and you do not

like it.

<_> But you don't have to go through another year of this.

<_> You know who is going to be there for dinner? You call

them all up and tell them that you are on a food and exercise program and

you have lost some weight and how happy you are.

<_> How you can't wait to see them.

<_> Set the stage and don't let them ruin the performance.

<_> But if someone happens to say something, don't panic.

<_> Don't get upset and don't leave the table.

<_> Brush it off and continue with your life. I apologize in

advance for anyone who says anything to hurt your feelings.

asked my family and friends to give me money I could save for the cruise

instead of other gifts during the holidays! How many cruises are you doing

next year, and when are they?

<_> Well, aren't you a smart sailor?

<_> I am only doing one cruise in 2002.

<_> And it's for you!

<_> It's on a brand new Carnival ship called the Triumph,

different from their others. It is very opulant and sassy!

<_> The right ship for our group!

<_> We are going to San , San and St. Croix. It

will be a spectacular Cruise to Lose with new classes and schedule.

<_> Yes, I have added belly dancing-ha ha! LOL!

<_> Seriously, a lot of new seminars and yes, a lot of sweat,

auditorium. Yes, the season is here, so when all the goodies are out and my

mouth waters (even when I'm not hungry) just looking at them, what do I do?

Satisfy the craving or convince myself it's not worth the taste? Thank you

<_> Yes, the candy and cookies and tarts are out, and they are

to your left and right. And yes, they do make my mouth water, too!

<_> Again you have to come back to purpose. Your purpose right

now is to take the very best care of you.

<_> That is one of your main purposes and you have to stick to

that or you are not being true to yourself.

<_> I don't know if you are on the food mover, but I created

it so you could have a lot of food in a day and not have to sacrifice.

<_> It's all portion control.

<_> I have been preaching this for all these years.

<_> Drink your water and that is sometimes something that can

stop the mouth watering and get your fresh food in or your pretzels.

<_> It's just talking yourself into a better place.

<_> You should also think about how you will feel after you

finish it because that is when the depression truly sets in.

<_> So when you are in a situation just sing one of Aretha

lin's greatest songs-You better think, think about what you're trying

to do to me, oh yeah!

You were my best New Year's Eve date ever, and I didn't even have to drink

affair with Dr. Pepper and 7 Up.

<_> I was drinking 8-10 a day.

<_> Each can of Pepsi that you drink contains 33 feet of sugar

cane processed into 11 teaspoons of sugar.

<_> That's what is in each can of Pepsi-11 teaspoons of white

raw sugar.

<_> Here's what I did and you should do the same-cold turkey

is not for everyone.

<_> Cut down to three.

<_> One for lunch, one for mid afternoon and one for dinner.

<_> I want you to add to that, 7 8 ounce glasses of water a

day.

<_> Wean yourself off these Pepsis slowly-sugar is a major

addiction and it has a hold on you.

<_> Remember, slow and remember to drink that water and

remember 11 teaspoons of sugar in one Pepsi.

<Typing_Angel> , I am chair bound. I wondered if you know some good

exercises to burn calories and fat?

<_> A few months ago, I completed a video called Sit Tight.

<_> It is a complete workout sitting in a chair and there are

people that are paraplegic and very obese others with bad circulation and

bad backs.

<_> You can go to my and pick it up. It is a great tape. Start

by doing ten minutes and work at it until you can complete the entire 30

minute program.

<_> You will love the music and fall in love with the people.

<_> Give it a try-it can make you feel so energetic and so

strong.

would you give us some basic ideas to follow to keep us in tune with our

diets?

<_> I can only tell you what I do.

<_> On Christmas Eve, I have my housekeeper tie me and gag me

in the living room.

<_> That way I can't eat.

<_> Seriously, I have a lot of rules.

<_> If I know I am going out for dinner, I will eat a lighter

breakfast and lunch.

<_> I am not really a party person and a party to me in most

cases is just a snack turned upside down.

<_> Another thing I try to do is not snack between meals.

<_> I plan my meals and think about them and yes I will save

my protein windows or fat windows and yes starch windows if I am going

somewhere I love like Mr. Chows or Spago.

<_> I also don't keep the extra goodies in the house during

the holidays.

<_> When people give them to me, I give them away-the cookies,

cakes and fudge.

<_> I don't need to be tempted. I also don't eat a lot at

night.

<_> And nothing goes through this mouth after I have brushed,

flossed and whitenened. Be very conscious of the nighttime eating and

drinking because weight comes on like there is no tomorrow.

<_> I never, ever, ever go back for seconds.

<_> Now you can see why I am not invited to anyone's house or

parties.

<_> But I don't go to bed at night and beat myself up!

<_> Hope these help. I know it sounds a little strict but you

have to be at this time of the year.

<_> Hello, my honey, my darling, welcome to my clubhouse!

<_> Let's see, I am single, I'll cook a turkey breast, I'll

cook a lemon chicken with fresh cranberries,

<_> I like you, like to plan my leftovers ahead.

<_> I know if I make a turkey breast, I'll have turkey left

over for sandwiches and sometimes I like to have a turkey omelette or stir

fry.

<_> Yes, I have even made turkey parmesan with slices of

turkey and fresh marinara sauce and parmasean cheese.

<_> Chicken is always the best choice.

<_> Because you can do so much with it.

<_> If you boil the whole chicken, you can then make a great

soup with the bones and the boiled chicken makes the greatest chicken salad

you can make with fresh fruit.

<_> Or make a sandwich and put it in the Forman grill.

<_> Many love to exercise during lunch or take a long walk

when they get home.

<_> I don't care when you fit it in as long as you fit it in.

<_> Promise you will exercise everyday from now until forever.

eggnog...got any suggestions for handling it?

<_> My parents loved it too!

<_> They would always take the teeny glasses out and give my

brother and I a little taste.

<_> I spent many a dollar on buying egg nog as a kid.

<_> Did I know it was finding a home in my arteries?

<_> It is one of the fattiest things you can drink.

<_> There is a low fat eggnog and a fat free egg nog.

<_> Marlissa and I created an egg nog recipe only for club

members that will be out next month.

<_> We lowered the fat content and it is still dreamy tasting.

<_> I must tell you if you are getting in 8 to 10 glasses of

water a day, there is not a lot of room left for egg nog.

<_> Put it in small glass and sip it and know your limitations

and most important, no seconds! A toast to you and your family.

<_> I can't understand how people who try to lose weight spend

15 days in the kitchen making the fanciest and fattiest holiday treats.

<_> They are fat free.

<_> Fat free cookies have too much salt and sugar in them and

let's not even talk about those hand dipped chocolates and 41 flavors of

fudge.

<_> Take up another hobby and paint little pictures on

coasters or learn how to needlepoint or latch hook a rug.

<_> Give the gift of love without calories-a nice toilet paper

holder or how about making quilts?

<_> There are no calories in those threads.

<_> If you are tempted by making all this food, stop before

they become extra pounds.

will eventually burn out.

<_> I am a perfectionist too but I know when to stand back and

ask for help so I don't go crazy.

make you feel better is food.

<_> I can't tell you all now, because the plans are still in

the making, but I am going to have an old fashioned Christmas dinner for my

brother and his girlfriend who are flying out to be with me.

kinds of meats, three or four different kinds of starches and four or five

different kinds of vegetables, six salads and a partridge in a pear tree.

<_> My meals now are more balanced at the holidays. I still

serve several salads with dressing on the side and different mixing bowls

for people to toss their salads.

<_> I have a chicken and fish dish, one starch and lots of

vegetables and just one dessert.

<_> I just learned too much food makes my eyes grow and my

appetite grow. So I try not to make that mistake anymore.

calories attached to it.

and good friends.

Lenny.

<_> So I make it a point to spend every holiday with him

because there is nothing better than family.

calendar and do take care of yourself.
