Guest guest
> I am truly failing (BIG TIME) on loosing weight I keep gaining and losing the same 5 pounds that have been plaguing me since March. I can go a few days eating very few calories and 1/2 hour exercise and still gain; I can eat 4 slices of pizza and no exercise and lose. Today I'm having my oatmeal and pineapple for breakfast, banana snack, lunch will be a veggie burger on whole wheat roll and a salad. No afternoon snack - I'll be at the wake. Dinner today is supposed to be chicken parmesan and it depends on whether or not I plan on going back to the wake for the 7-9pm viewing AND what time Ed gets in today if that's what I'm going to finally make. My chicken has been defrosting since 5am, so maybe I'll just toss it all in a crockpot with a jar of sauce and cook up some veggies and spaghetti when I get in later. Exercise today is out of the question. I was up half the night with a stuffy nose and this morning I can't stop coughing even after all my asthma meds. As soon as I finish breakfast and get Henry started on his work I'm outta here to go wait on line at the post office and bank and grab some Italian bread and sugar free cough drops at the grocery store. By the time I get back I'll just have enough time to gulp down lunch, shower, dress and go. Well, after I find my black shoes, that is. I hope I'm not getting the flu again! Not TODAY!! Guest guest
Sounds like a sensible plan. Except do not get the flu again... If I were the Sarg. I would make that an order!!! > > I am truly failing (BIG TIME) on loosing weight > > I keep gaining and losing the same 5 pounds that have been plaguing me since > March. Well for me it was just about 5 pounds but now it seems to have gotten to 8. I am back down to just 4 pounds heavier... but I am so uncomfortable. This morning Ali said to me that I need to start trying to loose weight!!! I just started to cry. Of course I left the room first. I look like I could give birth again! (Except that my face is rounder also) This morning I had my Grape nuts with raisins & banana. I am going on another field trip with the 3rd graders this time. There will be no snacks but we are going to Mc's for lunch. I usually eat very healthy in front of people so I am sure I will do well there. I have not planned dinner yet.... something chicken I am sure! I am not sure when I will squeeze in some exercise, but I will find a way! Guest guest
Kate... Just the words I needed to head out the door with!!! Thank you. It is funny, people without weight problems don't even have to think... it is routine. Ali tells me about the thin women that come into the restaurant... How they eat whatever they want but extremely small portions. Even on holidays or celebrations, they still make adjustments for their extra calories... It is habit... instinct almost. Yet here I am saying to myself " Go ahead... it is a special occasion " ... then so is tomorrow & the next..... Your words are so right..... One day at a time.... One bite at a time! I think I will stop by the store to pick up a water on my way to school! Has to be a throw away container ... I will be on a field trip! I didn't delete Kate's words... they are too encouraging for the day! Kate wrote: > My Friend > i know what a struggle it can be to stay focused! Guest guest
Those subtle pangs are something we ALL have to learn to recognize again! I know exactly what you mean, I am much the same way. I don't stop to eat until I am very hungry! THEN I grab whatever and eat too much. To say you need to learn you bodys signals is much easier said than done. It is a goal for me to listen, listen and listen again. As I sit here now I feel a slight bit hungry. I should eat, I will eat but since I am not famished I will eat much less than I would if I were really hungry. Guest guest
You are right as always, . Here's my ON TOPIC thought of the day. I'm still having problems with my eating .. ever since I got off track the first time when I had that pinched nerve I never got back on the eating wagon. So I'm throwing my hands up in the air and am going to concentrate on my exercise instead. I don't care how much I eat every day right now.. until I can get my exercise back in line, exercise will be my priority.. and once I have THAT taken care of, THEN I will start working on my eating habits. I always feel like I have 3978439043 things to have to work on to get to where I want to be (weight- wise).. so I've decided to prioritize them and tackle them individually instead of all at once. Does this make sense? I mean, I'm not eating HORRIBLY bad, but just more than I know I should... and this statement is not giving me license to eat even more while I'm working on my exercise.. does this make sense? Ya know, I think I finally have it right... I have to mooove my bod! My healthy eating habits will return, I know they will, especially when I start seeing results again from my exercise... albeit small results right now, but its better than nothing! ..ramble.. ramble..ramble..... Jaci > maybe i should not say what i think... > i certainly would never want to hurt feelings but... > take a look at our message board! > i scrolled back two page thingys.....AND most of the messages are " OT " > feeling discouraged......looking for positive support for getting rid > of my flub.... > the road to goal...bumpy
Guest guest
Jaci... Boy do I understand. Once we get off track... it is so hard to get back. My eating is for crap. But my exercise is not far behind. I am doing better but... I think you might be on the right track. In the past I always did better dieting until the weight loss slowed down, then I would be very motivated to exercise. Right now (because of my health) I am concentrating harder on the exercise than the diet. But I am trying extremely hard not to binge... that is my problem right now. You know when you are on track with the exercise, your food plan will fall into place! Keep plugging!! Jacinda wrote: > You are right as always, . > > Here's my ON TOPIC thought of the day. All the exercise in the world doesn't really cancel put a chocolate malted and a bag of chips, and you're only reinforcing bad habits. >I always feel like I have 3978439043 > things to have to work on to It's called " Life " ! Without my knowing it, the kid grabbed MickeyD's for me when he ran in to get his own. Since I'm the only one who eats fajitas, I just *had* to eat them. At least dinner I stuck tot he chicken parmesan and veggies as planned. That should be it for me for the night, except maybe a fig newton or 2 during the Simpson's Treehouse of Horror at 8:30pm. After seeing my girlfriend and her daughters today I have a few big talks to have with myself about my weight goals. I don't think all 3 of them together weighed more than 200 pounds total! Guest guest
Good post, Nikkie. When I get to "emotional eating," I have to tell myself, "what are you looking for? Love? Acceptance? Comfort? STOP LOOKING FOR IT IN THE FOOD! YOU'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR IT THERE FOR YEARS AND IT'S NOT THERE. It's never been there, and it never will be there." Whatever it is we're looking for, it isn't in those potato chips. Guest guest
Good message Christy. More of that self talk stuff. (For you new ladies, I am really into self talk... I know that I do myself alot of damage... so I am trying to reverse this process) I defiantly have to try it. I find that when I do ask myself questions or try telling myself something... If I actually say them out loud, they have more meaning. Almost like it is coming from a different person... Christy wrote: Good post, Nikkie.
