Guest guest
CO2 seems to kill the things that are in enclosed areas like cars. A person can not breath the fumes from a CO2 tank so that makes it hard to used any place but in a car. The car has to be aired out before you can drive it. Guest guest
If you read the file, you will see I addresed the dangers of CO2. Please read the file and suggest any changes you would like made. No, I don't believe it should be deleted....it's too effective a treatment to not give people the option to use it. After all, did you ever use CO2 or any gas products before this? It's not that dangerous if you use even a little common sense. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: Willow Morningsky <WillowMorningSky> > > > > > > > Subject: Hi There - > > > > > > > maktraveler > > > > > > > Date: Friday, August 29, 2008, 3:01 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > New members have one week in which to introduce themselves > > and > > > tell > > > > > > a > > > > > > > brief message of how they found this site. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > If there is no introduction within one week their membership > > > will be > > > > > > > deleted. Guest guest
Alright Bill, I've read about CO2 countless times but never did it b/c I thought it was so troublesome and expensive. Shoot, what's troublesome and expesive now??? Nothing! I've read that there's clean CO2 (ones used for sodas) and one with many contaminent elements. Cleans ones are must, right? Where do you get the tank and where do you get it charged? And about how much does it cost you per charge? I think you also need a release valve to go with it, correct? Is the reason why you have to keep treating your car repeatedly over a long time b/c your body keeps reinfesting it? Also, were you the one that breathed in a little bit of CO2 and was immobilized with back pains? I just want to take all the precautions. Thanks. kixx > >> > > >> > Holly, > >> > CONGRATULATIONS~ !!!! > >> > My ReVoxil came in today. I have not even been having the wispies! It feels wonderful! I can now hug and kiss my kids without paranoia of putting bugs on them. I even let the baby crawl, and sleep in my bed! I am still finding and running in to hot spots in my home. My truck also needs to be treated, but i have a sinus infection so im taking a break. Im confident to have them completely out of my home within the next couple of weeks. But my skin is clear. I will write up my protocol in detail when im feeling better, but i just wanted to share the news!!! Hope to hear the same from everyone else soon! It can be done!!!! > >> > Love > >> > Holly > >> > > >> > > >
Guest guest
I & #39;ve concluded that co2 is the only option for my lethaly infested car. Noting is working. Is it possible to just rent a tank. i noticed you can buy small tanks for paint ball. .... I got an air cleaner with a germicidal light today. who & #39;s tried these? kixx_rc wrote: > Alright Bill, > I've read about CO2 countless times but never did it b/c I thought it was so troublesome and expensive. Guest guest
Hmmm... in-lieu of getting CO2 tanks, I wonder how much CO2 is given off from baking soda and vinegar reaction (remember those high school science experiments?) Certainly not 20lbs worth like Bills but just how much is enough CO2? What about a big box of baking soda mixed with a gallon of vinegar... mixed in a big bucket of course. very cheap too. I might try that in the car... maybe worth a shot. When the two ingredients are mixed, hydrogen ions ( H+) from the vinegar react with the bicarbonate ions (HCO3- ) from the baking soda to form a new chemical called carbonic acid (H2CO3). H+ + HCO3- ---> H2CO3 The carbonic acid thus formed then immediately decomposes into carbon dioxide gas (CO2)and water (H2O). H2CO3 ---> H2O + CO2 > >> >> > > >> >> > Holly, > >> >> > CONGRATULATIONS~ !!!! > >> >> > My ReVoxil came in today. Guest guest
In the mean time, you could try the RP wet/dry, if you have some on hand. Strong RP/water mixture sprayed over everything, then powder dusted* over that. This can be vacuumed later as well. *Careful not to breathe the RP dust. > >> >> > > >> >> > Holly, > >> >> > CONGRATULATIONS~ !!!! > >> >> > My ReVoxil came in today. Guest guest
The co2 tanks can be bought from a gas supply company. The tanks are expensive. They cost around $110 each. The price to refill them has recently gone up at the gas supply company. Before, it cost around $9 to refill a 5 pound tank, and about $15 to refill a ten pound tank, and over $20 to refill a 20 pound tank. The prices may be cheaper elsewhere. Another poster says that he can get the co2 really cheap, but this has NOT been the case with me. I finally stopped buying the co2, because, it was getting to be quite expensive. It was suggested by the employees at the gas company, that I buy a REGULATOR to control the gas flow, but you don't need one if you are only going to use the tank in the car. You close everything up really tight, let the valve go, and slam the door. Do not open the car untill the next morning or wait a couple of days. When you do open the car up, really open the car up, all windows, doors, trunk. Wait a few hours and then you can drive it. Drive with the windows open for the first couple of days. There is already co2 in our normal air, but the concentration is super high when you first open the car up, so you hold your breath and start openinng doors and windows. yes, the reason the car becomes infested quickly, is because the person driving the vehicle is infesting the vehicle, and most of the mites remain in and around the driver's area, the floor, the seat, the steering wheel, the gear shift. I find that replacing the towel every 2 days helps with the seat problem. Ripping up the carpet helps, too. I ripped my carpet up from only the driver's side and under the seat and a small area behind the seat. Using rubber mats help. You can actually hose them off front and back, let them dry and replace. This helps alot. Spraying the floor with Lemon Scented Raid helps alot. I spray before and AFTER I drive. I haven't bought the Roach Prufe yet, but I do have some boric acid puff from Walmart and I have some on the floor in the driver's side. I am not sure if it helps or not. If you drive your car alot, co2 really helps ALOT. After a few months, I was able to afford 3 tanks. a 5 lb. a 10 and a 20 lb. tank. I think if you are going to do this, use a 20 pound, as it works the best at killing. The initial investment is expensive, but I think it is worth it. It can be dangerous and you have to use common sense, etc. no kids around when messing with this. no neighbors. no family members, unless everywhere is ON THE SAME PAGE as far as the danger is concerned. The employees at the gas company will ask you what you are using it for, and if you say welding, they will say you need a regulator. A regulator can be used to fill up the extra large hefty bags for when you are gassing your laptop, cell phones, wallets, purses, shoes. This way you can control the flow, and the tank lasts forever. But for a vehicle, one tank is used up in one shot. mel From: Holly <hollyjane11@...>Subject: Re: CO2bird mites Date: Saturday, March 21, 2009, 8:29 AM In the mean time, you could try the RP wet/dry, if you have some on hand. Guest guest
Hi Kixx It was me who breathed C02 and got terrible backpains. Welding shops or pepsi vendors renthem $5 per month for & 20 lb tank $12.68 to fill. I believe this might be 4-8 times the amount needed. I need to test the quanity needed with a test cricket in a screened box tied high up in the car because c02 sinks low. Meanwhile I just close window, set heat to recirculate to close fresh air ducts ,shut off car , remove keys ,set tank in backseat upright, point away from material & open & little ,close door & LOCK . WAIT 8 hrs , hold breath , open all doors , walk up wind & then breath. Let air for 6 hrs. If I do it every 3 days for 3 times the car is bugless for weeks and weeks. (egg hatch is every 3 days ,fumigation of every single molecule in the car every 3 days assures no bugs mature to egg laying status .I kill them before they are old enough to lay an egg. Eventally by atritcion (sp?) they disappear. The car is my saftey haven , a little epsom on the steering wheel 1 cup epsom & 4 cups water this kills baby bugs fast & leaves a nice protective residue and stops hand bites. You asked about where the bugs come from.. for me it is the park ,the dock , dogs, trees, scaffold boards, my barn , etc.one of my customers has the burner bugs in her bsmnt , those are the worse , I had to c02 car 2 times to even slow those unseen biting bugs , the bite I makes the skin burn like a sunburn. 16 oz peroxide, 2 tbls borax & 32 oz water applied on the burner bite kills it in 3 minutes. Before I learned of this mix from Frito posting the earthclinic recipe I would burn for days & days, somtimes in fear it would never stop getting worse, Rita went to the ER for this burning bite. no help they were. it is a new thing. Thank God you all are here you have saved my life God bless you, Bill ps I saw the prayer group , that is the most wonderful thing , I have been praying for all of the forum pss thyme oil 3 drops in the tub for 40mins works , I haven & #39;t been bit in 3 days now since I did it 3 days ago tenchantre@... wrote: > i was mopping with that for a while. had no idea. seemed like a very brief re action. zzz > kixx_rc wrote: >> Hmmm... in-lieu of getting CO2 tanks, I wonder how much CO2 is given off from baking soda and vinegar reaction (remember those high school science experiments? ) Certainly not 20lbs worth like Bills but just how much is enough CO2? Guest guest
What about letting dry ice melt in your car overnight? Wouldn't that release plenty of C02? Ian
Guest guest
Great idea. It actually went thru my mind when I posted last week about vinegar/backing soda (reaction results in water and co2) but I didn't know how much dry ice costs. It turns out, the supermarket nearby sells dry ice and it's fairly cheap. Less than $2/lb. So Maybe get 5-10lb and let it just release? I was trying to calculate how much co2 gas is released by baking soda/vinegar vs dry ice vs a 20lb co2 tank that Bill uses...(never finished that research) I don't think anything will come close to the 20lb tank but if 20lb tank is an overkill to begin with, then I'd rather use just enough amt to kill these buggers. > > What about letting dry ice melt in your car overnight? Wouldn't that release plenty of C02? >  > Ian >  >  >
Guest guest
Hi I think the only way to know what concentration of C02 is deadly is to use a test bug in a screened cage tied up high since the gas settles. Also if the test bug is in a cup with a screen the gas will sink to the bottom of the cup & give a false test regarding the entire car due to the fact the cup , traps the gas in the bottom & the c02 stay setteled , untill osmosis causes it to difuse into the air & mix evenly , . I put a spider in a ziplock & he passed out instantly when I wafted a little c02 in with the tube I had clamped to the $3.50 welding shop purchased adapter on the end of the tank treads. I left the spider for . . 25 mins or so , then opened the bag & to my amazment the seemingly dead spider woke up & ran out of the bag , 1 pill bug ( I hated to do this cause I love pill bugs) 1 pill bug I put in the car & left with a 20 lb tank for 8 hours ,and after I aired the car I inspected the pill bug & he was barely moving after 8 hrs of C02 and 30 min of airing ..I believe he was to damaged to live , and he did die soon after. So it seems that 8 hrs might be necessary for gassing a car. Though, often I gas my cellphone for only 1 hr when my hands keep getting bit from using the cellphone, this 1 hr works well on the phone & clothes & boots & papers. God is Good, He will help Many are the afflictions of the rightous, but He delivers them of them all . He is a man of war , Pharohs chariots has he dashed into the Red Sea ... ... That is a song by Moses , Sing to the Lord a new song , He is Good Bye, Bill kixx_rc wrote: > Great idea. Guest guest
Bill, do you know how much CO2 gas is released from your 20lb tank? 20lb tank doesn't mean there's 20lb worth of gas, does it? Or is it the total weight of the tank w/ gas? -k > >> > >> What about letting dry ice melt in your car overnight? Wouldn't that release plenty of C02? > >>  > >> Ian > >>  > >>  > >> > > >
Guest guest
Hi Kixx You asked the weight of 20 lbs of C02 . it means 20 lbs of C02 is in a the tank. The tank empty usually weighs 26 lbs depending on the alloy that particular tank is made of , steel or aluminum. So to release 5 lbs from it wiil reduce the overall weight, 5 lbs on a simple bathroom scale. I think it is easier toput the whole tank in the car & open it a little , close the doors & step back holdng my breath. , withthe car parked down wind if possible , wait 8 hrs, open door , with breath held , back away upwind , wait 6 hrs & enjoy the blissfull bugless-ness , then I repeat in exactly 3 days , then again in 3 days . this kills the bug & the chain of eggs . It lasts for weeks & weeks , then usually I pick up the bug at a park, it gets in my car & I do it again. all 3 times . If I could release the gas without breathing it I would fool with metering it. But I accidently breathed it using it inside filling bags , & now I am sensitive to the gas. It causes me a severe kidney pain if I breath any while working with it. It knocks a bug out in 1/2 of 1 second. they don & #39;t get a chance to run from it because it knocks out any life forms that breathes oxygen in 1 second. And the bug cannot move , if the bug is left in the c02 it is damaged badly , if for 8 hrs it is dead. The egg hatches in 3 days , so they are back, I hit it again, then .,then some eggs are possibly delayed hatchers so I hit them in 3 days again excatly . I read of a harvest mite laying an egg by a special female that is designed to lay an egg that hattches in August. . So if such a mite exists , I am on guard to extinguish it immediatly if I sense its presence . I do not wait to see if it will spread & drive me to infestation. I use epsom salts in water & soak everything. I waft ground borax powder on every thing using a top quality2 cartrage $35.00 respirator. Then I run from the powder for 8 hrs as the fan blows it into everything. I come home hold my breath. kill power ,wait 3hrs,soak house w/ borax water ,lockdown dust & live. Guest guest
the aluminum tanks are lighter. if you can't handle a 20 lb. tank, buy a 10 lb. tank. let it off in the front seat for a better kill. mel > Bill, do you know how much CO2 gas is released from your 20lb tank? 20lb tank doesn't mean there's 20lb worth of gas, does it? Guest guest
Hi Mel Front seat discharge mass-o-gas , nice touch ..! also could freeze the little monkeys . Maybe ,..?... I get bit in 5 degree weather though so it would have to be direct contact , I release it slow so it keeps hissing for 1 hr I have learned that 1 gas release every 3 days really knocks them out for quite a while . maybe 3 weeks even , Hard to say I have used it many many times & I soak the car in epsom . They must reproduce in 3 days I assume . Ps what is they ? anybody get one indentified ? Strange bug , it definatly hates borax & 2 cup borax baths with 2 cups epsom daily . thanks, Bill Mel wrote: > the aluminum tanks are lighter. if you can't handle a 20 lb. tank, buy a 10 lb. tank. let it off in the front seat for a better kill. > mel > > Bill, do you know how much CO2 gas is released from your 20lb tank? 20lb tank doesn't mean there's 20lb worth of gas, does it?
