Guest guest
Does anyone have any info on the UV light? Or have any luck with using it? Also... what is the heat treatment being used in the home? at what temp does it have to reach to kill them.. like inside your car during the summer? thanks... ANN Bird mites - a global epidemic The bird breeder/keeper world has been dealing with this problem for a long time. The webmaster of the site below received over 1,000 letters from her members complaining of this problem. She wrote to the CDC.www.avianweb. com/bitingmites. htmlIt is not clear if these mites are a vector of a far more serious problem - Morgellons Disease - which the CDC is finally studying. We do know that many people who start out with a "mite problem" end up with Morgellons Disease. Guest guest
Hi Ann, I have an air purifier that has a UV light as well and I really think it does help. I think it draws in any microorganism in close proximity and the light " zaps " them. Just be very careful about using such a light because it can cause eye damage if you look directly at the light. (this one has the bulb encased within the purifier) I bought the air purifier at Walmart for less than $100 and I have been happy with it so far. Hope that helps. You might search this site for others who have used the UV light as well to hear about their experiences. Lady Dee > > Does anyone have any info on the UV light? Or have any luck with using it? Guest guest
Ann I just wanted to quickly answer your heat treatment question. At the end of last year a few people were doing this on this forum, I heard about the heat treating from a friend who posted on this site and that is a big part in how we rid our home of our 'mites'. I hear that in order to kill the mites you need to reach a temp of at least 140 F. When you heat treat the house has a gradient of different temperatures, so you want the coolest areas like by the windows and furthest walls from the heaters to reach that temp. Which means other areas of your house will probably reach the 200 f. range. To heat treat our house which is about 1500 sq feet we hired two 150 btu propane heaters and 2 large propane tanks (not the bbq size ones or they will freeze up on you as the pressure drops too rapidly) We heat treated our home once a week for 3 weeks which was enough to erradicate them, we did an extra 2 weeks to make sure....we had this biting crawling plague for 6 months. I dont know if it will be as effective for every one - but I do believe the person who originally started heat treating also got over them....it was very effective for our family - and as we did it during the middle of freezing winter, anyone doing it during the high heat of summer will find that mother nature is on their side. let me know if you have any more questions p.s. I should also say that while we heat treated we would take ivermectin once a week, spray our selves down with listerine in the bath, and spray windex through out our home weekly as well as all the daily laundering. zuleikah
Guest guest
Bessie thanks for the link - Sibyl posts on here some times. I think her website is awesome and any newbys will find it a great resource. z > > The bird breeder/keeper world has been dealing with this problem for a > long time. Guest guest
Z, I was the original heat treater. I believe I got after 6 consecutive treatments but I then made the mistake of bringing my dog back into the house. My condo was reinfested and I have been just too sick to do it again. I did remove my dog permanently, found her a good home and treated a few more times. Right now I'm not living at my condo and my parents refuse to heat treat because of damage to their cabinets. I think it will work in on any type of mite. My problem with the condo is shared walls. They have so many places to retreat to and them return so it takes many heat treatments. Its easy, but very draining to do. I'm 50 yr old female and sick with this parasite. I'm so excited that my idea actually worked for someone. God gets all the glory. Guest guest
Cyndi Well I never did know who to thank for the heat treating idea. I thought it was Som, he doesnt post anymore... So yes I do thank God but I am also extremely thankful to you too!!! Heat treating worked very well for us, I noticed its effects immediately.....each saturday after we heated there would be almost a complete die down until about thursday....then finally they were just gone. During that 5 week period we also put our lovly cat and dog in quarintine for a month and re-homed them....I dont think we could have done it with them still in tow - though we miss then awfully as you must yours. I also can see how you came so close but with shared walls, and your dog, it didnt quite kick it....I am sorry that your parents arnt willing to heat treat....we didnt have much damage at all to our home. But anything I didnt want to risk I placed at the furthest point in the house from the heat.... anyway thank you a million fold, and I do hope and pray that you get well and rid of these things for good. We also definately had some sort of parasite along with the ride, we are still on a parasite cleanse 6 months after getting rid of the mites, and it seems like it has completely gone yet I will stay on the cleanse perhaps indefinately....God Bless z
Guest guest
Z, How does your parasite present? What parasite cleanse do you use? Guest guest
Cyndi I am not sure if it is one parasite or a collection red streaks on our skin. Very straight and they could be inches in length. Also a strange sensation under the skin, especially around my feet. This was a completely seperated thing from the 'mites' as they persisted for months after the mites had gone (the biting and crawling). The first parasite cleanse I used was by the company health walk, it was called paraclear and now is called revoxil...it was very good, helped with the mites as well, cost around $20 for 120 capsules - pretty cheap. The one that we are currently on I got from a very good naturopath that we have been seeing. Anyway this product can not be brought over the internet, I dont know where else to find it but it is by a company called enzyme solutions and is formula 29. I do think that the revoxil is equally good though. You can actually see the parasites being cleansed out of your body in stools. What about you are you doing any parasite cleanses? And if so what kinds and how have you found them? I have not had any symptoms for at least 3 months now. I am not sure if it is coincidense but when we added in the opaline by opaline solutions, that was around the same time that they seemed gone. Are you on opaline? if not I strongly recommend it!!! As do others who are on it. Z
Guest guest
Z....I have the same symptoms as you however, I also have another parasite that I can see in my skin identified as a nematode. If I told you about it, you wouldn't believe it.....my family doesn't even believe me and they have seen it. I am using opaline and a parasite cleanse called Paratrex. Have also been taking a medication called praziquantel and an antibiotic, minocycline as well as Accutane. I take these for the nematode. I recently went to a Chinese doctor and he told me he has seen this before in China. He also says no problem getting rid of it. He gives me herbs to brew into a tea. We will see. > > Cyndi > > I am not sure if it is one parasite or a collection > > red streaks on our skin. Very straight and they could be inches in > length.
