Hi ,

It is always frustrating with a mite infestation, because they are so small. I have long since given up trying to let others know about this as they cannot comprehend something smaller than a flea wrecking havoc like this. And the fact that they swarm and/or bite in large numbers makes it worse!

I do have a tip which helps me when I need to sit at the computer for a while in the evening and they start migrating. I light a sandalwood incense stick underneath the computer desk and let the fumes/scent come up around me. Use a good incense stick holder so you don't burn the carpet, etc. Since they communicate with pheromones this seems to keep them from swarming, although I might get a few bites, nothing bad.

The other strong scent that seems to help, and was posted by another, is to add some pine oil to witch hazel and put it in a spray bottle. You can spray almost everything with this. The scent really knocks them back, although it would not be considered a true miticide. You can get these products at a health food store.

Good luck and keep us posted.
