any other way of capturing a good sample other than using red light and hot pan?

Dear all,

Right now everyone except my family thinks I'm losing it. I really

need to obtain a good sample. Do you have any good way of capturing

the birdmites other than the technique of using ir lamp + hot pan at

night? I've tried it but it doesn't work.

I so want to have the county health center ID the bug for me to proof

i'm not losing my mind. I so want to identify the problem so I don't

have to waste any more money on doctor visits and take unnecessary

pills. Can anyone please please please help me out?

Buddy-

I see you doing all of the things I was doing.

I have told you how I fixed my problem.

Part of my problem was I was trying to prove to people and the doctors

that laughed at me that I was in fact being bothered by something.

Even if they did have a blood test to prove you are being affected by

mites the doctors aren't going to be able to help you.

I'm not trying to be mean but I started focusing all my energy and time

fixing the problem and not trying to prove anything and it really

helped.

Sandy is dead on it is a 3 fold plan. There is no silver bullet.

I lost so much time and money trying to prove things to other when it

is easier to just focus your energy on eradicating the things.

I learned who my real friends were through all of this and it wasn't

then ones I thought would always be here for me.

Please don't take this as a negative post towards you.

I spoke to someone last night on the phone whose own mother thinks he

is crazy because invisible bugs are bitting him. He was ready to end it

all last night.

He went and bought Listerine and Windex last night and got some sleep.

You have your family behind you, you are lucky like that.

Again, I just hate seeing you make the same mistakes I did and you will

lose a lot of time and money.

If you can get a specimen great but I like Sandy have never been able

to find anything even on tape with county entomologist's scope.

Don't worry about proving anything.

Bill,

I agree with Ray that you are very lucky to have your family on your

side. In my case, my parents think it's all in our minds and that we

should stop thinking about it. My own brother who is a Doctor doesn't

believe me. I don't even talk about our situation to my immediate family

anymore. It was my uncle who is a Doctor who decided to help us and did

some reading on the internet. After reading on birdmites.org website he

decided to help us some even though this is outside his area of practice

(cardiovascular).

In my opinion, my uncle is helping me out of compassion from my story

but I know it doesn't make sense in his mind just because He's never

seen anything like this, so trying to prove to someone that you have

already gone the usual route in trying to rid of the mites is very

difficult and only leads them to think that what we have is in our heads

as opposed to our skin and the environmnent. My uncle has a hard time

understanding that there is not an insecticide that would kill these

things even after a 2 hour phone conversation explaining all that I have

learned about these mites.

From my background as an engineer and being the biggest skeptic

(according to my wife), I too feel prompted to find another good

specimen to showcase but have been trying unsuccesfully to come up with

one for some time now. When I'm at home and feel a sting, I would get

the clear tape and undress immediately to try to catch one. I did

caught one from my left ear at the beginning of the infestation and it

was a pretty good match to the D.G. (Dermanissus Gallinae) but sent it

to the PCO and lost it. Like someone else said, maybe I have some other

type of organism that I'm feeling on my skin, in addition to the mites.

Most times I feel like something bouncing off from my skin, not so much

crawling. When I open the freezer bags I ussually feel a couple of them

bouncing off on my legs or my face.

I have spent countless hours trying to catch samples with no good

results, except for the black spackles and white looking " eggs " . I even

placed some in a hatchery to see if they would grow to adult but after

about a week they still look the same so I'm going to try not to waste

so much energy on the samples but focus on finding a product that would

kill them. I would encourage you to do the same.

God Bless,

M

MM-

According to Dr. S. your uncle did give you are really good

medicine.

http://yarchive.net/med/scabies.html

I thought I was going to die one night after taking Permethrin before

waiting a week. I had dry heaves and couldn't breath so I thought I

was going to pass out and then when it stopped I went outside for air

but that didn't help and I thought I was going to pass out before I

got to the shower.

I stayed in there for an hour and felt better when I came out so I

know it was the permethrin.

The only nights I was sleeping was when i had the permethrin on but

didn't get rid of my problem because the mites don't only live on me

like scabies.

Dr. seems to think the Eurax is the safest and also very

effective against mites.

You should see if you can get some for the rest of your family.

Thanks for posting what doesn't work. It really does help others.

You already know the only thing that helped me with crawlers and if

that isn't helping I don't know what to tell you.

Dear Crystal,

Thanks so much for the info on the thrips (Collembola) After some

reading it seems like a real possibility on my case.

http://www.headlice.org/news/2005/0519.htm

http://www.headlice.org/report/research/jnyes.pdf

the above study found 18 out of 20 patients as having the springtail

and describes the symptoms in detail. It also notes that it is

extremely difficult to obtain a sample to look at under the

microscope (sounds familiar). I'll keep doing some research to find

out if there is any known treatment for it.

Regarding the Eurax cream, my wife felt relief after using it but got

reinfested a day after washing it off and is now feeling a lot

of pain on her face and neck. We are waiting from an order we placed

on Magicpharma on the 19th (you can fill in a medical evaluation

report in place of a prescription) to treat all four of us at the

same time. I hope to get it by next week considering the holiday.

Thanks,

M

I missed 3 calls to my cell from them and since they couldn't verify

my address they had to wait to mail my stuff but I got it after they

verified everything.

That site was recommended to me by someone else and he's ordered

about 4 times with no problems only that once his Iver took a long

time to get to him.

Ray- thanks,

That's good to hear that it is safe to use, esp. for the children.

Crystal- according to Magicpharma the product has already shipped

although they note that it may come in 3 or 4 different shipments??

This will be my first experience with buying from them so I'll report

after we get the products.

At least god led me to you and to this forum. I will do whatever you

have described. First I should get rid of my newly purchased mattress

and get a memory foam, then i need to remove the carpet so i can clean

thoroughly. Life is very very unfair. I worked hard to get all my

current belongings and i cherish them so much.

Dear Ray,

Right now I am the only one who's feeling it. Therefore i just

couldn't figure out whether it is in my head or real. I don't have

bite marks on my body but oh the scalp pain is so real. Also the

prickling in my ears. You had your family to back you up. Actually my

parents still are having doubts. i guess many people have gone through

the same thing. These days i feel them all the time, even in the

morning and afternoons, when they should be resting. Maybe i should

stay off this site for 1 or 2 days...

Bill- I've had NO ONE until I found this group and have survived.

If I had discovered this group when this first happened (as you have)

I would have gotten rid of this right away- BUT! It's been over 2

years and I have survived...

You have no idea what it was like to deal with this for well over 18

months ALL BY MSELF before finding this group.

Don't despair Bill- you'll be fine if you don't panic...

Put this away for right now and enjoy your Thanksgiving with your

family-

Ciao
