Guest guest
Hi again, I also tried the Ivermectin but only had one day's dosage. It didn't work for me but then again the doctor only gave me one days dose. Maybe it does take longer as Golfingnut said. Lady Dee > > > I met with Dr. Harvey. Guest guest
Ivermectin works really well. I have taken it now for almost 2 years. That's an oximoron... spelling... the thing with ivermectin is your body gets used to taking it and your immune system takes a break and lets the ivermectin do the work. once it's out of your system, these things come back with a vengence. It's difficult to get doctors to prescribe it. A lot of people on the scabies forum have been cured with it, along with a topical, and aggressive environmental cleaning. I've been seeing fibers on me when I scope my tissues. I spray a tissue with hydrogen peroxide, swipe my skin with it, and see black specs and fibers. Lovely, fibers. And gulfingnut has morgellons. This is horrible.ladydee96 <ladydee96@...> wrote: Hi again,I also tried the Ivermectin but only had one day's dosage. It didn't work for me but then again the doctor only gave me one days dose. Guest guest
Hi to all of you who are taking iver or plan to. Neal's dermatologist gave him Stromectol which is the human brand name for iver. Neal weighs about 250# and his prescription was to take 7 3mg pills (21mg total) all at once, once per week. He stayed on that dosage for about 6 weeks. After we sprayed everything in the house with Cedarcide and bought new mattresses (tempurpedic, not cotton) things got much better. The people at CedarCide said to not vacuum carpet or mop floors for at least a week to 10 days to give it time to kill the eggs and larvae which it has apparently done. Neal has had no crawlies for about 2 weeks now and has not been bitten since November. We went to dermatologist monday and he said to quit taking the iver and come back in a month to get checked. I don't think the iver will work right taking small doses as the large doses are adjusted per your weight and will flood your system with poison for the parasites, doctor said all kinds but I don't think he is up to date on morgell0ns so they may be immune to it. Anyway, it stays in your body approximately 7-12 days gradually being eliminated in your digestive tract. I hope and pray we are rid of those things but am holding my breath. Neal mowed this week and I insisted he spray down with CedarCide before he did it. I am keeping all of you in my prayers and hope you will have a good solution for this horrible problem. Thank you golfingnut1957 for sharing your experiences. Now that you have some powerful people believing you maybe some who are hiding their heads in the sand will come out and do some studying up on our problem. Our dermatologist is very interested in all the remedies this group have discovered on their own and hopefully he will spread some info around in his circle in the Houston area. I know there will be more and more people having this happen if nothing is done about it and you are absolutely right about our own government people ignoring the problem. Good luck and God Bless. Guest guest
Joan: Ivermectin does not stay in your system for 7 days. It only stays in your system about 2 days. The reason it is taken once every seven days is to get the mites that have hatched from eggs, as ivermectin does not kill eggs. I hope that your husband gets over this soon. Thanks for updating us on your progress. Mel jww1931 <joanwood@...> wrote: Hi to all of you who are taking iver or plan to. Guest guest
Golfnut What sort of prognosis has this doctor given you? Is he thinking you can be cured, or will you just be able to become asymptomatic and manage life so that it doesnt over take your system again? You are also in a fabulous possition to do something that many of us can not do - be taken seriously!!! Not many people are going to say a lawyer is crazy - you will do a lot for the rest of us who are made voiceless by the dilusionary label - and let us know if you ever do ralley a peaceful protest - my family will come. Mel Thanks for all your incredible knowledge - Don't be afraid! you have had a long battle, but that definately doesent mean you wont over come this.....and with new approaches like what we read about all the time on this forum....you will get through this!!! You have always been a voice of positive reason to me and my family - and so encouraging when I was in a dark place - we are all here for you, and you will beat this. z

I can only keep these things at bay. I have done just about everything, except change my diet.... And that will be hard for me, and I'm not sure I can do it. Guest guest
The CDC website has an announcement of the Morgellon's study that they are launching in Northern California. http://www.cdc.gov/unexplaineddermopathy/investigation.html#2 At the bottom of this page, there is contact information if you want to email or leave a voice message for the CDC. I seem to recall reading a post a couple of months ago but can't recall the outcome. If you feel this is a waste of time, you could try writing to the CDC Director, Dr. Gerberding. She has a background in infectious diseases. Dr. Locksley at UCSF (University of California, San Francisco) has spent years studying parasites. http://www.medicine.ucsf.edu/id/faculty/locksley.html He may not be interested in researching parasitic mites or Morgellon's, but would probably know if any of his colleagues are interested in this. I worked at UCSF for 15 years, but left several years ago to move to Hawaii. It has one of the largest research organizations in the U.S., about on par with s Hopkins. I have made no effort to identify exactly what my problem is, so I don't have any information to share with scientists, and I don't have any questions right now. I'm real focused on getting well. About half of the people I talk to here on Maui are fully aware of the bird mite problem. The ones who had birds nesting in their rafters called the pest control companies right away, and got rid of the problem with pesticides. The pest control operators removed the bird nests. The people with chickens have a more serious problem, and have to throw out most of their things, like me. It is considered a horrible problem. The only doctor I mentioned the problem to was my gynecologist, and she knew all about it and offered to prescribe a skin cream to stop the crawling sensation, but I didn't want the prescription because I want to know if something is crawling on me. Parasites are a very common problem in Hawaii. myrtle > > Golfnut > > What sort of prognosis has this doctor given you? > Is he thinking you can be cured, or will you just be able to become > asymptomatic and manage life so that it doesnt over take your system > again? > > You are also in a fabulous possition to do something that many of us > can not do - be taken seriously!!! Guest guest
Myrtle thanks for your informative email, I looked at those links - thank you. I know that the cdc want people to register with this, but I dont want to - I'm not very trusting these days:) We lived on Oahu for 6 years, I loved every day of it! At least you have beautiful salt water to swim in! boy I would be in that ocean daily if I was still in Hawaii. I bet the climate doesnt help with the mites though. I hate these things, they have even invaded paradise. I got a very interesting email from Trisha Springstin - she is very involved in this, I even saw her on the only documentary I have seen on this (well at least on morgellons) she is working closely with their research institute etc. She talks a lot about the endocrin break down. I dont want to post her email here, I would be happy to forward it to anyone though. p.s. Myrtle thanks for your cleansing file, I had Mel email it to me! Its great! looks so unbelievably strict, but I think there is a lot to diet and cleanses. z

Guest guest
Hi Zmooks, We have plenty of bugs here in paradise, it goes with the 80 degree year-round temps. I'm here because my family is here, otherwise I would have gone back to the " big dirt " by now. But Hawaii is a great place, including the bugs, ocean, hula, flowers, gorgeous scenery and nice people. I would like to see the email you mention, from Trisha Springstein. Please forward it when you have a chance. There were two things about the CDC website that bothered me. One was that they are doing a study on Morgellon's, but have a statement that " Morgellons is not a condition that is reportable... " The second is that they do not mention bird mites in the parasite index: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dpd/parasites/index.htm# The only mites I could find in the index was the scabies mite. It might be useful if some of us write to the CDC and tell them about the bird mite ordeal we're going through, and how some of the people are developing Morgellons. I'm glad you found the cleanse program interesting. I didn't enjoy doing it, especially the part about not drinking coffee. I'm not sure I would recommend it to anyone because it is so extreme and unsustainable, but it has a lot of interesting ideas. I wish I had time to swim in the ocean, but I have to work to make money to support my mite habit! And I'm scared of sharks... Aloha, myrtle > > Myrtle > > thanks for your informative email, I looked at those links - thank you. > I know that the cdc want people to register with this, but I dont want > to - I'm not very trusting these days:) > > We lived on Oahu for 6 years, I loved every day of it!
