Guest guest
Lorelei- after reading all the posts in this group it seems as though you know as much or more than anyone so I was hoping I could tell you what I'm dealing with and hopefully get some valuable input or advice regarding my situation. I spent the night at a friends home in Long Beach Ca on Sept. 12th, 2005 and awoke to a crawling sensation in my hair and on my face so I went in the bathroom and turned on the light so I could see what it was and couldn't see anything so I went back to sleep thinking it was a flea that I was overreacting to. Well, that was the beginning of my nightmare. Since then I have been to 7 dermatologists, 3 general care physicians, about 50 health food stores (they're all over LA fortunately) a vet, approx. 20 pharmacists (they are easily accessible, FREE and sometimes very helpful) and 4 major universities and sent what I thought were samples of this demonic organism to 3 different labs. ALL TO NO AVAIL!!! Oh, and did I mention the over $7,000 I've spent for all this??? I have lesions on my neck and arms, have lost over 20 pounds in 2 years, lost my right eyebrow and 1/2 my left and have bald spots in my scalp which forces me to wear a baseball cap everywhere I go incl. business meetings which doesn't make such a great impression to say the very least! It's better than NOT wearing it though, believe me. To this day I don't even have a scientific name for what I have because up to this point, no one has had the guts to try and help me. I've been told repeatedly that I have parasitosis and even had one dermatologist pick up the phone and threaten to call 911 if I didn't leave his office immediately! (Then he sent me a bill for $210.00 for NOT helping me and trying to get me arrested!!!) Thank God for this group and for people like you!!!!!!! I think there is a solution somewhere in all this and would like to get as much GOOD info as possible so I hope someone can help me answer some questions. Do these things have a known cycle that you're aware of? If so, I'd like to find out 1) what their gestation period is, 2)how long it takes them to mature, 3)how many stages they go through and 4)how long they live. (I have a trillion more questions but I won't push it. Anything else you (or anyone else) may be able to think of would be greatly appreciated Lorelei... I am currently using these things to deal with this- ivermectin (stromechtol) (it's kinda scary to me beacause I don't know what else it attacks in my body so I haven't taken it for about 2 months. (It just seemed to piss them off anyway), permethrin cream, colloidal silver (drops in water- 1/2 tsp every morning), baths with epsom salts, ammonia, vinegar, mineral oil, parsley (eaten), iodine, olive oil (directly on skin), Sea Breeze (astringent), hydrogen peroxide (not food grade- can't afford it at this time), olive oil, fresh minced garlic (eaten), oregano oil (pills taken orally), garlic (pills taken orally) and have gotten special pillows, pillow covers and mattress covers made by a co. called Homedics www.homedics.com which are supposed to be specifically for repelling critters like dust mites. I am going in to " phase 2 " of this by making sure my environment is not habitable for these things but have to admit that this is THE most difficult part of this because I have a carpeted room and will be evicted if I take it out. I am following all the instructions I have found at www.birdmites.org and at this group as well as the FEW other places I have been fortunate enough to find. THANK THANK YOU THANK YOU to all of you and to Tim of birdmites.org for providing a forum and all this content for this pestilence and how to treat it, I was in the depths of despair before I found this site (group) and now I have hope.... which is very important when dealing with such a difficult thing.... Peace & God Bless to each and every one of you that are dealing with this affliction, you are most definitely in my prayers...
