Guest guest
I was able to take 3 pictures of the mites I caught last Sunday by removing the microscope eyepiece and placing the digital camera lens directly on the eyepiece holder. If you are interested, please review the pics on the photos section of the website. Please bear in mind that the pictures are not great, since my microscope is very limited in capabilities. In my opinion it would be very difficult to figure the type of mite from the pictures. I appreciate the comments. MM

Guest guest
Syb- It looks similar but I couldn't tell if they are the same type of not. That's a great picture you got on your website. I guess someone correctly identified it as the Northern Fowl Mite? I'm hoping someone is able to identify mine. Thanks- Manymites > > Interesting. Guest guest
Hello to All - Season's GreetingsThank you MM for posting those photos. What I have been gathering off my body looks very much like your photos... especially the "red dot." At other times, it is a "black dot" that is visible... usually much smaller in size than the red ones.Unfortunately, the microscope I have is a toy... plastic... but it does allow me a 150x magnified view.Having lived with this condition since May, I believe that there most definitely is some parasite living in the skin of myself and my two cats, obtained from the abandoned bird nests in the roof of the attic apartment where we were residing. Moved from that apartment in early September, but have had to go back and empty it out and bring some items here--did not and still do not have the money to replace things... still sleeping on a camping cot in a nylon sleeping bag... no furniture except for plastic milk crates and plastic snap-together shelves, and this new metal and glass computer desk.So much has happened... am only now beginning to feel somewhat "normal" again, despite the continued presence of these "mystery mites."I'll click back in later, when my schedule will allow me more time.Lorelei
