Guest guest
Rita Carlson, a member of this list and a kind soul, has e-mailed me that she has been treating squirrels outside with Intervectin and that these poor animals are looking so much better now. It reminded me of the times when I was fighting a war over fleas and all chemicals I used didn’t phase them, and then came “Advantage” along, as well as “Frontline” and ONE pill given to all my pets killed them all! Within a month, there was no flea to be seen. Since this was in San Diego (Flea Capital of the World), I had to give them a pill maybe once a twice a year as they picked up fleas on walks. So, maybe the solution is not the topical / environmental chemicals that you are using, but maybe the solution is from within us? This being said, Intervectin is nothing to fool around with. Toxic reactions have occurred and one should discuss possible treatment with medical professionals. Please, do not self-medicate! There have GOT to be some doctors out there that sufferers can work with. There is little on the Internet about this, except I found this book reference: 1998, “Our Scabies Treatment is Archaic, but Intervectin Has Arrived.” International Journal of Dermatology 37 (January): 76-77 In any case, by Rita treating the animals outside, she may actually be working on resolving the problems in her own home, as the squirrels that she has been treating have become “living mite killing machines” killing mites outside her home – AND these squirrels obviously look so much better. The sores are gone and their hair is growing back. Is this the solution? To treat within? What are your thoughts? Guest guest
because the frontline and advantage has an insect growth regulator which stops the reproductive cycle of the fleas. but with mites, an insect growth regulator doesn't work, because mites are not insects. ivermectin really helps alot with scabies, helps keeps the numbers down. it only makes a small dent with bird mites, though, as bird mites are more of an environmental problem, than scabies.
