Guest guest
Apologies, . I tried to reply to this last night but the link I wanted was down. There is much written about side effects of SSRIs in the on-line BNF (British National Formulary) - equivalent of Physician's Desk Reference, I think, for you. This information is provided by the drug companies, who, while obviously covering their backs, are responsible enough (?) to suggest caution in lactation and pregnancy. This link http://www.bnf.org/WeBNF/lform1/scripts/display2.dll/mpanel?ID=3351 certainly indicates caution in breastfeeding and pregnancy, and when you check out the appendix, it says that there is no apparent harm in the short term. Pretty damning, imnsho! All terribly vague. There are so many natural, safer options for PND, but if really pushed, I'd be less worried about the tricyclic antidepressants than SSRIs in b/f mums.
