Guest guest
Blood tests or premarital examinations for men are not required. What a crock, I would think that this would be discrimination. Technically speaking, men should have all the same, and proof of rubella vax as well. While they wouldn't carry a child, they could carry the disease the same as anyone else .......... How bizarre! in IL (with & Chase nearly fully vax'd and Liam TOTALLY unvaxed)
Guest guest
Rubella Vax required for marriage-INDIANA Dear Phyllis: I have just learned that proof of Rubella vaccination is required for marriage in the State of Indiana. My daughter is 26 and lives in Bloomington, IN. She will be married there at the end of May. She called me recently, asking if she had the Rubella vaccination because proof of it is required before she is permitted to get a marriage license. This is for all women under the age of 50. I spoke with a woman at the Monroe County Clerk - Bureau of Marriage Licenses office; she told me there is an Indiana State form that must be filled out. I told her that my daughter's vaccinations were given in the State of Pennsylvania and that Pennsylvania does not have any official State forms that are filled out when vaccinations are received. She is mailing me an Indiana form which I will take to my daughter's pediatrician for him to sign. She then asked me if my daughter attended IU and if she did, then she would have been required to give proof of the Rubella vaccination before admission. (Rubella causes birth defects.) Incidentally, I now must have my daughter write a letter giving me authorization to get the information from her pediatrician, since she is over the age of 18. I can only assume that ALL Indiana colleges and universities require the Rubella vaccination before admission. The website for State of Indiana marriage licenses where this information is stated is: http:\\www.marriage.about.com/library/bllin.htm Listed below is the information which I copied into this e-mail from the website listed above: Other Tests: Women under the age of 50 must bring a completed State of Indiana Premarital Examination Certificate. These are available through your family doctor or any RediMed, StatCare, or other urgent care clinic. Blood tests or premarital examinations for men are not required. Sincerely, Ginny Schoenman
