Guest guest
Having just finished some notes on this list about the current state of the CDC and the uncanny ability of Simon Wessley to hold sway over people, I just read an adorable exposition on the 'excuse note from Momma' as an under-appreciated genre of modern American fiction, specifically as it related to our former Atlanta Mayor recently convicted and sentenced to prison for tax evasion, among other claimed misdeeds, in light of a 'note' that recently surfaced purported by his now-deceased then-limited-income mother who supposedly wrote to 'confirm' that she had given him (but with no mention of her other children) $20,000 in cash. The article goes on to suggest 'excuse notes' for the Atlanta Braves, Bush and more. The good part now, is that there is a contest/blog at http:www.ajc.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/ajc/town-talk/ where each of us (wow!) can write an 'excuse' for the Atlanta-based CDC, for, for example, ignoring thousands of published studies showing biological bases of CFS in promoting their recent studies as the first credible evidence of a biological basis for CFS because we took away their reading because we didn't want them to become demoralized for their having dropped the ball when they spent their CFS research money on other things instead. . .
