Guest guest
I would not leave out the Ginko at all as suggested but add extra magnessium. Myself I take magnessium with calcium and zinc. I also find 5HTP essential for helping sleep having previously been on a regime of sleeping pills for several years and thrilled actually to get off them and klonopin(clozepan) spelling..MSM I find helpful too...it is worth reviewing though when you look at the amount one takes daily and any doubt over any is worth leaving off for a while and re-consider at some point.I do add to my list from time to time if something impresses me but I am not easily led. Hope this helps BW Dianne
Guest guest
Hi thanks Dianne I totally agree about the Zinc, the other thing it is supposed to help with is heavy metals, and as an ex-dental surgery assistant I have a substantial mercury load to deal with. (cant chelate till all my amalgams are replaced, cant replace amalgams yet because I am flat broke having been sick for 10 years) REgarding magnesium, I cant remember the exact details at the moment, but one of the reasons I take 2000 mg a day of EPA oil is because I read in an article that it produces magnesium in the body in a way that people with ME can handle and in fact taking it may be better than magnesium itself. There is also a small amount of magnesium in my multivit, only 30mg; but I think I have it covered. The other reasons I take EPA are that it is said to be good for muscle and joint pain; and it is said to ward off depression. I dont suffer from depression with ME fortunately, but I am only human and there are days when it hits me and I cry; I had depression as a child so I know how horrible it is and that is the reason I also take st s Wort, not because I am depressed, but because I greatly fear becoming depressed - if that makes any sense! If you are interested, let me know and I will dig out that article regarding ME, and magnesium from EPA oil. Oh btw thanks Sara too, I wanted to explain that the reason I take such low dose of n- aceteyl-L- cysteine -and the reason why I dont take ALA either is the same one- I worked in a dental surgery for over ten years and I have a quite high mercury load according to Great Smokies tests, not to mention three remaining amalgam fillings that I can't afford to replace with composites just yet. I have been led to believe that ALA is a chelator which is reputed to allow mercury to cross the blood/brain barrier; (I also used ALA as one of my challenge substances, when I was doing my mercury challenge testing and I had quite a severe adverse reaction to both or one of these substances, ALA and DMSA) and according to one of the specialists here, Prof Rich, NALC can cause my mercury to cross the blood/brain barrier, (although I am taking it to build up my glutothione levels against my mercury) so I have taken his advice and I keep the dose low and make sure that i only take it at the same time as a high quality protein food, rather than on an empty stomach. The reason I want to give it a full month to see what the results of stopping my supplements are, is that some things I take (such as EPA and st s wort) are said to take up to two months before you get the benefit because they have an accumulative effect - so to my mind (admittedly foggy brained lol) supplements that have an accumulative effect may take an equal amount of time to leave the body. I hope this makes sense lol meanwhile although I have said I will leave them off for a month but I am so superstitious about my supplements that I am really genuinely too scared to do this! all the best xperimental , " Dianne " <boyzee12000@...> wrote: > > I would not leave out the Ginko at all as suggested but add extra > magnessium.
