Guest guest
Blake, do you use 4life transfer factor? The basic is $38/bottle on the web...but I see on iherb.com that source naturals makes one for $11.21...does anybody know what the difference is, if any, in potency or effectiveness? TIA./Jill > > CS, > > I have tried hundreds of supplements, only a very small hand full made be feel better, more made me feel worse. > > Diet: Discovered sensitivities to gluten, casein, peanuts, eggs, chocolate, mangoes, etc. Avoid these things 100%. Eat fresh fruits, vegetables, unrefined meats, seeds and extra virgin olive oil. Eat plenty of salt as I crave it and feel better on it. Avoid caffeine and alcohol. Drink decaff green tea and liquorice teas. Eat regular meals and avoid hypoglycemia. Keep salicylate and yeast intake fairly low. Eat plenty of garlic, onions, carrots, greens. Infections (cryptosporidium, blasocystis hominis, clostridium dificile), leaky gut, dysbiosis, low secretory IgA in saliva, probable yeast infection. These were addressed with antibiotics, herbs, sarcaromyces boulardii, many many bottles and types of probiotics, glutamine, aloe vera, DGL, zinc. > > Supplements: Zinc was one for me that seemed like no matter how good my diet I always ended up low. Zinc supplements were fairly consistent. Fish oil I have always taken. I can't tolerate any whey but take NAC (600 mg) and feel better on it. IV glutathione make me feel better but can't afford to keep doing them. Take a low dose (because can't tolerate too much folate) of Thorne multi vitamin mineral most of the time (Basic Nutrients III). Some of their multi's are devoid of iron and copper and contain coenzyme forms of many B-vitamins (folinic acid, methyl-B12, P5P, etc.) Am currently taking some herbal formulas (mainly '5 Mushroom Extract' by Metagenics - which is an anti-viral/bacterial, plus milk thistle, licorice, gotu kola, etc.). > > If I were unwell now the first thing I would reach for would be high dose and quality 'Transfer Factor' (I use double what the normal dose is in my clients and have been getting a very good response, particularly in the post-infectious CFS/FM cases). > > If anyone wants any more details of anything I mentioned please let me know, and if anyone wishes to join my email newsletter they can do so at: > > http://www.nutritional-healing.com.au/content/newsletter.php > > Regards, > > Blake Graham, B.Sc (Honours) > Clinical Nutritionist > Perth, Western Australia > Re: Andy Cutler / / all : Diet changes > > > Great. > > Any chance you could share what supplements/ treatments you take in your > regime ? > > Regards > CS > > >
Guest guest
Hi Blake, Please can you give a more precise example of a good quality Transfer Factor? Rosie If I were unwell now the first thing I would reach for would be high dose and quality 'Transfer Factor' (I use double what the normal dose is in my clients and have been getting a very good response, particularly in the post-infectious CFS/FM cases). Guest guest
Hi CS, Heavy metals is one area I haven't done much in, due largely to the fact that I know of no cheap way to detox from heavy metals. I am planning on doing this at some stage and believe it will take me up to 100%. A friend of mine with CFS is doing well on DMSA supositories. Blake Re: Re: How I improved my health. Guest guest
Hi Blake, I started TF at a low dose and gradually increased but I may have been better off staying at the low dose but who knows for sure. I also had a similar reaction to Immunovir but stopped taking it after one month in fear I would get worse again. Perhaps immune modulators are not for me. I am looking into the gluten issues now. I'm glad your health has improved : ) Nat
Guest guest
Many thanks Blake, Rosie Subject: Re: How I improved my health. Hi Rosie, I use 4Life 'Transfer Factor Classic': https://www.4life.com/products/ProductDetail.aspx?id1=1 & id2=105 I usually start with 1/day gradually building up to 6/day, then somtimes swapping over the 'Transfer Factor Plus', depending on reponse and history. Guest guest
Hi Nat, sorry to hear you reacted badly to transfer factor. Something I have learnt over the years is that for any supplement there will be a small subgroup of people that react badly to it, in your case unfortunately this reaction didn't clear up a few days after stopping it. What you described reminds me of a reaction I had to wheat a few years back. I went on an elimination diet (which included eliminating wheat), after the 2 weeks I added back to wheat and had a violent reaction. After eliminating wheat I did not return to my pre-wheat state. I learnt about Transfer Factor from a natural medicine doctor with 43 years experience. He taught me that it's best to start low and build up gradually. It can be a shock to the system I suppose to start to high. So in your case I would say either Transfer Factor is simply not compatibale with your body or the dose was too high. Blake Re: How I improved my health. Hi, " If I were unwell now the first thing I would reach for would be high dose and quality 'Transfer Factor' (I use double what the normal dose is in my clients and have been getting a very good response, particularly in the post-infectious CFS/FM cases). " ***I would caution anyone using " high dose " Transfer Factor, this gave me a complete relapse 5 yrs ago during a time I had reached a high level of improvement. I have never gone back to base with the wellness I experienced. I used 4-Life TF that was rec'd by my doctor who researched it as well.
