Guest guest
I've been reading about vitamin C saturation, and would like to try this for my son. Gradually, I am trying to experiment with the treatments everyone mentions. I've looked at a website that describes how much to take, and the type of C, but I'm not sure what effect it would have on my son if it were working. In what ways would it help? (he already takes Recup, and a lot of other supplements and meds). He has CFIDS, but not Lyme. Thanks for your help! Warmly, Toni
Guest guest
Hi I would start off by looking at different ways to boost glutathione.ie whey protein etc. Regards CS
Guest guest
Hi Toni, Wow...you have just reminded me that this was the very first treatment I tried for my CFS! (Way back in 1990 that was!) I took Niacin as well. I can't remember exactly the amount of Vitamin C, just that it was to 'bowel tolerance' level. The idea was, for me, that I was supposed to feel better - less fatigued at the end of 30 days. I'm afraid to say it didn't work for me. I'd been unwell for 5 1/2 years by that stage. I also had Vitamin C by IV (45 grams over 45 minutes) many times along with hyperbaric oxygen treatment several years ago. The combination of the two was extremely effective for the chemical poisoning I had at the time but I had no long term improvement from it. The Vitamin C saturation will do no harm I think, but I agree with CS that Glutathione building is probably a good way forward. Your son is very fortunate to have you researching on his behalf. Best to you, and him. Anne > > I've been reading about vitamin C saturation, and would like to try this for > my son. Gradually, I am trying to experiment with the treatments everyone > mentions. Guest guest
CS vitmain c saturation can work well for cfs & fms. Have you ever done it ? I'm near to full health after doing this with recuperat-ion ( blasi protocol) http://www.doctoryourself.com/fibromyalgia.html kath.c. > > > Hi > > > I would start off by looking at different ways to boost glutathione.ie whey > protein etc. > > Regards > CS > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Anne Vitmain c saturation is not harmful but i would not do this by IV though i would only do this by mouth using pure asorbic acid ( there are different types of vit c like calcium asorbate vit c ) . Vitamin c (pure asorbic acid ) raises glutathione it does this by helping the body manufacture it. look at vitmain c foundation website ( why not post what happen to you on their forum you don't have to join you can just post as a guest and stay anon ). :- http://www.vitamincfoundation.org/ best wishes kath.c. ps what type of iv vit c did you use at the time ? > > Hi Toni, > Wow...you have just reminded me that this was the very first > treatment I tried for my CFS! Guest guest
Hi--Thanks for the suggestion--he's already been taking ImmunePro whey for over a year, and now takes Essential GSH (plus lots of other stuff for different reasons). I'm hoping that the C saturation would add to all this, but am not sure what its effect might be. Warmly, Toni
Guest guest
How much do you take daily and in what form? Ballady > > > > > > Hi > > > > > > I would start off by looking at different ways to boost > glutathione.ie whey > > protein etc. > > > > Regards > > CS > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Kath, Is there a brand of the ascorbic acid you used? Where did you purchase it and how much did you take daily? Thanks, Ballady > > Anne > Vitmain c saturation is not harmful but i would not do this by IV > though i would only do this by mouth using pure asorbic acid ( there > are different types of vit c like calcium asorbate vit c ) . Guest guest
Before taking large doses of Vit c - this may have negative impact on Glutathione levels - mention this to Rich and he may give you a technical breakdown. Regards CS
Guest guest
Ballady I take now 15grams + per day of Linus Vitamin C Powder in juice or any pure asorbic acid . Titrate up to bowel tolerance. best wishes kath.c. > > > How much do you take daily and in what form? > > Ballady >
Guest guest
Ballady I bought my vit c over the internet I found that to be a cheaper way of doing it for me . I use linus vitmain c powder or any pure form of asorbic acid. Start off slow and work up.. I take 15grams + daily at the moment every one is different how much they need. kath.c. > > Kath, > > Is there a brand of the ascorbic acid you used? Guest guest
CS Many people with cfs ( me ) just cannot tolerate whey protien whether it undenatured cows whey or goat whey or whatever (me for one), vitmain c saturation works well raising glutahione levels. Vitamin C is also very important for maintaining glutathione levels.Vitamin c (asorbic acid) c is easy and cheap unlike some other wierd and wonderful other " alternatives " . best wishes kath.c. > > > In someone who has CFS they maybe better in using alternative methods to > raise Glutathione ie Whey Protein ? > > Regards > CS > > > >

Guest guest
Cs You don't just start taking high dose of vitmain c you titrate up the dose . best wishes kath.c. > > Before taking large doses of Vit c - this may have negative impact on > Glutathione levels - mention this to Rich and he may give you a technical breakdown. > > Regards > CS > > >
Guest guest
Any reason why one can't do both? Guest guest
Hi kath, When I tried Vit C orally it was ascorbic acid (I can still taste it if I think about it!), but I'm not sure of the type used for IV. The IV Vitamin C was part of a different protocol, along with hyperbaric chamber treatments, for acute chemical exposure problems, and I found that particular treatment very effective in the short term. I have no doubts about the benefit of Vit C. I had forgotten about the saturation treatment (which I probably didn't do long enough to have any benefit from anyway), and I'm interested to have a look at the website you mentioned. Thank you for the pointer... Anne. > > > > Hi Toni, > > Wow...you have just reminded me that this was the very first > > treatment I tried for my CFS! Guest guest
Ballady, I took it for a while and the idea was to take it to 'bowel tolerance level'. So, to take as much as you can without inducing diarrea! ) This way you know you've reached saturation. I expect there are better explanations of the protocol at the Vit C website kath mentioned. Hope that helps, Anne. > > > > Anne > > Vitmain c saturation is not harmful but i would not do this by IV > > though i would only do this by mouth using pure asorbic acid ( there > > are different types of vit c like calcium asorbate vit c ) .
