Guest guest
The most plausible explanation that I have come up with is this.. We know that pH appears to play a role in CFIDS, pH has many consequences: ability of blood to hold oxygen, ability to digest food (stomach acid pH). * So, if Recuperat-ion users who use HCL should notice a reduction of the need to use HCL. * So, the various breathing routines popular a few years back to increase O2 should have more impact The salts and their ratio will have an impact on the body's pH, hence the need for precise ratios of each salt and well as granularity (i.e. how fast it dissolves, thus what gets in when into the body). A second aspect is that it has been documented (Spanish study comparing Recuperation to Commercial Rehydration drinks) that it causes [in athletes] re-hydration significantly faster - now, with CFIDS people being log in blood volume [bell etc] often, this would likely increase blood volume also. The study stated: In conclusion, the administration of a drink with a high content of sodium, Recuperat-ionR, helps restore with grater agility, not only muscular rehydration, but also the energetic substrates necessary for muscular work and performance. This rapid restoration of both, hydration as for substrates that intervene in the muscular energetic metabolism is, particularly useful in those sports that include prolonged and repetitive exercise. " From " Rehydration in long distance sportsmen. Effects of the administration of a beverage with relatively low sodium content versus other beverage with moderately high sodium content (Recuperat-ionR). Study of plasma osmolality and the muscular bio-energetic effect by nuclear magnetic resonance " Concerning Vitamin D, the chain is this: Vitamin D deficiency can be masked by consumption of boron (see http://lassesen.com/cfids/supplements/boron.htm ) which is one of the items used by the thyroid to control body temperature. Interesting that both are connected with diabetes/sugar issues: Vitamin D (reduces incidence of diabetes by up to 80% at 2000 IU/day), Boron (reduces amount of insulin needed). PS, I noticed that Recuperat-ion manufacturer has applied for FDA approval for direct sale in the US on 05-JAN-2006, http://www.fda.gov/ora/oasis/1/ora_oasis_i_30.html Ken Lassesen, M.S. _____ From: a Carnes I didn't realize the D increased body temp. You know I haven't taken my temp for a long time. It used to hover around 96 something - not good. I have had to lower by thyroid meds lately. I see the endo in a week and will want him to discuss my lab results. But even without that I am doing so well on the Recup. Now if I could just wrap my brain around some plausible explanation. a
