Guest guest
Thanks Barb-- Usually HCL deficiency is only discussed in terms of causing hearburn, so I didn't know whether it could cause bloating/gas also. I thought fermenting only happened in the intestines, not the stomach. And I don't get why it happened so suddenly. If it is a HCL issue, it seems like there still has to be another cause in terms of it suddenly shutting off so much. I've been taking one pill per meal for a long time, have occasionally done two which is sometimes fine and sometimes too much. So why all of a sudden would five not make a dent? The fact that I can take a whole bunch now seems to indicate that I have very little HCL, but what would shut it off so quickly? With out enough acid- food goes in there- starts to ferment (which it shouldn't do in the stomach) makes gas- and wham - your're in pain. Too much HCL is easier to treat than not enough. It's guess-work to know how much HCL to take. My huband has this problem just starting- so I know a little about it. Bsrb > > Hi all-- > > I had something weird happen this weekend. Saturday night, after my last meal, I got terrible stomach pains. It was really bad gas in my stomach, not in my intestines. It felt like someone was blowing up a balloon in my stomach and it was going to explode. It kept getting worse and worse until I was crying and all hot and sweaty and couldn't lay down because my abdomen muscles were cramped up. I felt a bit like I was going to pass out which made me really want to lie down, but I couldn't. I finally took some betaine HCL pills and it calmed down for a little while. Then it came back, but moved higher up (under my breastbone). Took some more HCL and it finally went away and haven't had any more bad attacks. All day yesterday I still wasn't feeling well though--some bloating and burping and no appetite. Today I can eat normally again, but still have some bloating and burping which has been acting up a little more this evening. > > It seems very strange to me because I didn't have anything different to eat or new medicines or anything. I did drink kind of a lot of Gookinaid before my meal and a little during and after, but I've done that before. I didn't have any heartburn or anything like that--just pain from the pressure. I've had gas cramping in my intestines before, but never in my stomach. My doctor didn't have any ideas. > > Anyone ever had anything like this or have any ideas on what it could be? Could it be a " healing crisis " from the ImmunoPro? I've been on the full dose for exactly a month today and from some of the things I've read, that would make some sense. Especially because the day before I had my lungs felt a little watery (but didn't bother me) and I've had a fever off and on the past several days (my temp is usually low). It got up to 100 on Friday and 101 on Sunday. > > Any thoughts would be appreciated! > Trina > > > --------------------------------- > Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Thanks a. That's interesting and fits in with what Dawn said. Both the husband and wife have recently experienced this bloating with no real explanation. Possibly keep your eyes open to see if others in your community get similar symptoms. Or maybe not... a Carnes > > > > Hi all-- > > > > I had something weird happen this weekend. Saturday night, after > my last meal, I got terrible stomach pains.
