Hi

Its struck me that since I have been on Whey protein for almost 1 year and I

have no reaction to it - I seem to plateau this pathway to raise Glutathione

and so I have stopped taking this temporarily. I also include magnesium ,

Vit c, Zinc to help raise Glutathione daily.

Im now looking at new ways to raise Glutathione via different pathways:

1) Turmeric

2) Milk Thistle

3) Selenium

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Sorry CS if you have already mentioned this, but have you taken

Lipoceutical Glutathione, and if so what happened?

I just ordered some NAC in an attempt to raise glutathione levels:

***Hi CS - I read a few days ago that taking 500mg of Vitamin C per

day will raise Glutathione levels by 50% in two weeks.

Take care.

well, my glutathione is very low, I take 2000mg C daily and have for years,

during the last 6 mo my glut actually dropped over 100 pts even lower in the way

too low range. So this sure didn't work for me. Glutathione is NOT as easy to

restore as some of those tidbits make it sound.

Hi, CS, Bernie, Marcia and the group.

I think this is true in normal, healthy people, but not in those who

have a problem higher up in their sulfur metabolism. For them, too

much vitamin C may even deplete glutathione, because glutathione is

what recycles the vitamin C, and becomes oxidized in the process.

Although it is normally reduced by glutathione reductase, this

enzyme can be blocked by mercury, and I think some glutathione is

lost from the cells as it cycles back and forth.

Nope. I started on Whey Protein isolate and have been taking it for around a

year now- when I first started taking it the detox reaction was evident and

I had to build up slowly.

However i have plateaud on Why protein hence i have dropped it temporarily.

I am now keen to look into other ways to boost Glutatathione using :

turmeric/ selenium and milk thistle.

I believe Im only seeing the detox reaction with turmeric because I have

already cleared away alot of toxins from my body.

In my case i havent used NAC as there have been many negative things said

about it ie stimulating bacteria and increasing heavy metal mobilisation to

brain,.

The best thing I did was to take Whey protein isolate as this cleared the

way to improve on improvment!

For me the key was to take Whey protein - i have a feeling this is the base

to build Glutathione and then you can work of it once one has plateaud by

adding other things to increase Glutathione ie : vitc , magnesium , zinc,

selenium, turmeric, milk thistle

Hi CS,

How much whey protein did you start with and what were the detox symptoms?

Thanks,

Maxine

Hi Maxine,

I started with less than half a tea spoon belive it or not.

The reactions were evident in the sense that I could feel it working and it

would give me headaches. I THINK ALOT OF PEOPLE STOP TAKING IT AT THIS POINT !

A sign that i was very deficient of Glutathione and a sign that I had alot

of toxins. I continued for another 2 months on this dosage before I gradually

built up the dosage. A year later I can see no reactions and i can drink it

by the scoop full. I also took a bromalain enzyme tab with it sometimes.
