Guest guest
Hi Jill, I haven't necessarily been following all of your posts (I haven't been around long enough to know about the whole tooth extraction issue), but I saw something that alarmed me in your most recent post. You mentioned having mitral valve prolapse. I just wanted to make sure that your dentist knew that before he did your extraction. Did you receive prophylactic antibiotics before your procedure? I just know that with MVP, it is very important to always take prophylactic antibiotics before any dental procedure or you can risk getting an infection that could damage your heart. If you did not take antibiotics before your procedure, I would make an apt to see your dr right away. If you did take antibiotics, or I misunderstood and you do not have MVP, then please just ignore this post! -Dawn It’s the future of Hotmail: Try Windows Live Mail beta http://www2.imagine-msn.com/minisites/mail/Default.aspx?locale=en-us
Guest guest
HI thanx for your concern. I do not have MPV, but I took abx before the extraction anyway. I just went for an echo to see if there was any mvp (lymies can develop it) but everything looks fine. I think I need the tooth behind the extraction site out. I think it is a foci of problems. I think it became infected/damaged from the ineptness/aggressiveness of the initial extraction. She must've been a REALLY bad dentist. > > Hi Jill, > > I haven't necessarily been following all of your posts (I haven't been around long enough to know about the whole tooth extraction issue), but I saw something that alarmed me in your most recent post. Guest guest
Hi Jill, Glad to hear you don't have MVP, sorry about the confusion. I really feel for you. A few years ago, I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. Three of the four were bony impactions. I had a horrible recovery. I ended up with a hole draining from my sinuses into my mouth. I had an awful sinus infection (which the dr said he shouldn't have operated with me having. I had called his office earlier and they told me it was fine. Doesn't that whole run around get so frustrating!!??) Anyway, I eventually ended up at an ENT who said I needed a month of antibiotics to clear the infection. (He is also the same guy who told me about the Sinus Rinse). It did eventually clear up, but it was miserable in the mean time! I sure do hope things get cleared up for you soon. By the way, you wouldn't happen to live in the Toledo, Oh area, would you? (I have a great dentist now...) Take care, Dawn HI thanx for your concern. Guest guest
Jill, I " m having same problems you are after tooth extraction. When did yu have your extraction? Guest guest
At the end of October but mine was so badly done it fractured most of the socket, a piece of bone came out with the tooth, and another piece of bone was loosened and could not rejoin so was dying and starting to stick out and had to be removed surgically. So it was a really bad situation. And the tooth behind feels wrong now. Both teeth felt fine before any work was done but one had decay up at the gumline above the filling. After work on it, pain went to the nerve which probably should not have but anyway it did. I was suddenly in nerve pain and it didn't go away so I went to have the tooth pulled. > > Jill, > > I " m having same problems you are after tooth extraction. > > When did yu have your extraction? > > Tammy > >
